I am so impressed with all the things you guys are doing with this club. You must have been thinking about this club for months, if not years to come up with such innovative ideas. I really hope I can find the time to go race and practice at your club this summer, if you don't mind having a french Canadian in the pits

I've been busy...here are a couple of my latest pieces of work...(Hoping to pull the TC3 out of storage at the end of the summer and give it a good shakedown). I should mention that my offroad design lacks bumps and jumps because the version of trackmaker I use doesn't include them, but I will tr and include the hand drawn version so you can see where everything fits

Anyone care to discuss the nuts and bolts of the track barriers ? Like what do most of you guys use ? How do the permanant facility make thier barriers...

I am guessing the most common barries are PVC Pipe, 2x4's ...

I've attached the layout of our new local indoor carpet track when it was first completed in January and the current layout as of the beginning of May.

We don't have as much space (keeping 8' ROAR legal lanes) and have to re-use the piping without any additional, so its kinda tough to switch around at times.

I'm with you on this one. A "track making thread" should show ALL the aspects of making a track, not just drawings. So lets hear it from members of existing clubs, track owners or anyone with ideas on how to create a track, what materials to use, what kind of barriers, how to hold everything together, a secret recipe of dirt and clay for off road, a special asphalt coating for on road. Show us what's out there. Pictures, drawings, plans on HOW your track is or will be made.

Here's a few options I drew up for our smallish track.

Three are fast and two are mixed.

Names:
1. "Double Oval" - balance of left/right turns
2. "Oval S" - right biased turns
3. "Power chicanes" - right biased turns
4. "Loop D Loop" - balance of left/right turns
5. "Small Snake" - right biased turns
