sorry to get back to this one but as i just bought a setup station after borrowing my friend's for a while first i just figured out the following
integy version measures the inside wheel angle
hudy measures the outside wheel angle.
now to get a spare plate from the other brand and you can actually tell the ackermann function from both readouts.....

thanks!!

Try this, it's decent and very consistent for a 2.5 chassis setup. Sorry about the scan quality and penmanship.

Default Diff problems

I'm running a 13.5 pro with rubber tires. One way in front and diff in back.

The diff will come loose after one run. I have plastic out drives and a new titanium screw and nut. I have broke them in and tightened them in steps and they loosen or will snap the screw over time.

I can get some alum. out drives will this help?

Guys, I ordered HPIa495 39t ball diff pulley for the cyclone. I got it and it has wider pulley teeth than the HOT61050 pulley. Also the HPI pulley has larger cut outs in the diff ball section to hold the diff balls, so the diff balls can move up and down, whereas in the Hotbodies pulley they can't.

Stormer hobbies and speedtechrc.com both have the HPIA495 pulley listed as a balldiff pulley for the cyclone. If you look at your manual, it calls for HOT61050. Although both pulleys have the same bearing diamater and thickness, it looks like the HPI pulley woudl work beside the fact the pulley for the belt is wider and the diff balls may move around.

Anyone have experience with this?

I think that older cyclones use the a495 pulley. The newer ones use the hot bodies 61050 pulley.

I've been using the older pulleys for quite some time. Actually did it because way back in the thread a lot of people were using them and thought they were smoother. I don't think I could notice much of a difference either way.

There are many opinions listed in this thread on the problem with the Cyclone diff screw and what it takes to fix it. I have had very good results using the delrin diff (instead of the aluminum halves), the stock diff screw, a large amount of anti-wear grease applied to the diff screw shaft, spring, and thrust bearing, and a little bit of threadlock on the diff nut. Knock on wood, I've been running the same diff screw for many months, running 27T and 19T motors, foam and rubber tires, on both carpet and asphalt. My Tamiya TB-02used to break diff screws until I started using a large amount of anti-wear grease in the same way. I think it helps keep the diff screw from heating up and cracking. My $0.02 anyway.

does anyone know where i could get the washer that goes on top of the steering column that sits on top of the bearing before you put the top deck on top? I do not wish to buy a whole new servo saver set just to get this single part.

The original HPI part is a 4x6x2mm washer.

Try this bushing from SERPENT #SER401044 - it's a 4x6x2mm bushing for the S400

Or just hunt around for a 4mm washer with a small OD.
