I have the new Cyclone TC and run the fixed spool on rubber tires on carpet. I keep breaking the front drive shafts at the hub end.

Can i use the earlier steel 44mm version of dogbone 60116 or 61043 in the TC?

Cheers
That is kind of strange, they're not as resistible as we wish, but breaking it's kind of diferent. I would go to this check list:

1. Steering Rate
2. After each run check the screw that holds the pin and always mount it with some thread lock
3. Check if you don't have to much droop.

I think for now its all, but help is always welcome.

However i think they fit perfect.

There are more Lipos out there that will fit. These are just a few that I knew off the top of my head.

SMC 4000, Trinity IP3800, Orion 3800 and lower, Core RC 3250

The car is almost ready for the regionals. We have been testing for the last two weeks and made some driving errors that gave the only MI3 driver a false sense of confidence (even though my boy lapped him at the KO) so come this weekend it's on. I feel this car is either gonna TQ and win or come off broken... The last two weeks have been a ton of fun and I expect nothing less from this race. 13.5 has been so much fun that the remaining mods I have will be up for sale right after the regionals along with the rest of my Futaba equipment. If interested pm me. Man I love this car

it does look effective...i'd just be afraid that in a bad crash, the bracket would bent and/or break

plus, I wouldn't want to have to buy the flat carbon middle deck since mine has the heat sink one

But it looks like it works good I did something similar on my Tamiya Evo3 Surikarn, took a 5v fan and bolted it directly to the top deck - simple and effective

it prety much would be almost imposible for it to get hit in a crash.
and or bend/break just from a sudden stop.

It would hit the motor first.

perhaps i make my car move to much but i run 4.5 all round (fronts very loose on the 4.5 gauge but won't fit 5 under it. rears go tight on the 4.5 surface)

edit: mixed up the gauge so changed it to be correct
