anyone got a "second batch" TC kit recently? and can confirm if HB has fixed the rear hub alignment issue? I noticed new kits now have the 2008 reedy winner sticker of HARA stuck on the front of the box... or are these the same old kits (with the bad batch of rear hubs) with a new sticker?

Iím just looking for some starting gearing for an Orion 5.5 or equivalent turn. I do not have the brushless motor mount.

I plan to run it with 108/31*2.4375 = 8.491 FDR. Is it in the ballpark? I do not have the motor yet and never ran anything hotter than 10.5 on the Cyclone.

Future batches of the rear hub carriers have been said to be much better, so this shouldn't be a problem for too much longer hopefully.

Good news....... but I wonder how will we tell the old from the new ?

Yes sir!

Was going to do 3.5 but couldn't get the gearing w/o brushless motor mount. So 5.5 will have to do

Okay guys,

this is probably going to sound completely stupid and ridiculous but this is my first "real" touring car, so here it goes!

I noticed that after building the car i put wheels/tires on it and the car doesn't roll smoothly? I mean i can put it down and push it, but lets say i was on a big open floor, and i pushed the car it wouldn't continue to roll? Perhaps im just used to shaft driven cars. Is this normal because its new/belts etc, or did i once again screw something up?

Also some food for thought,

When putting the car together, to be exact page 12 of the manual, shows that the center one way's carbon fiber screw plate should be facing the left side of the car? However i have been told it should be on the right side? Also are we suppost to gap the spur gears and one ways so that they are even on the shaft or should i use shims?

wel now that most of you are probably scratching your head or laughing out uncontrollably, any help would be great

Hi Tim
The car will roll freely in time given on the track, as you say, the belt needs to bed in, make sure the belts are not to tight in the 1st instance and readjust your diff after a couple of 3 laps.

Don't bother with the plate, just make sure you do the screws up equally onto the spur and gently, as you are adding rotational mass to the drive chain if you put the plate on.

Just space the spur gears and pulleys so the belts don't rub on them.

Also if you have a center one way make sure the front belt is riding on the one way pulley not the rear belt.

You also might want to check the center shaft on your spur. There should be a little play in the shaft on the pulleys between the spur. I had a similar problem on mine.
