Smartypants,

The best model shop in the Orlando area is Superior Hobbies, based in Casselberry, about a half hour drive from International Drive area. They do sell some hotbodies stuff but when I was there last September looking for a WCE Cyclone, they never had any :-(

There is also Central Florida Hobbies which is a bit closer to International drive, somewhere close to Central Florida Fair Grounds. Look them up on the web. They deal with Hotbodies also and you might have a better chance getting a new TC there.

Raymond.

Default Hara wins Reedy ROC 2008

Atsushi Hara just won the Reedy 2008.
Congratulations to him and team HB.

I know this may be too early to ask, as most racers are still having their hangover from the race, but any photos of Hara's car to share?

Eager to see his setup to win the tough Reedy Race.

We were all pretty much running Hara's set up. I will post what we ran in mod and let ya have a look at it. I learned allot from Hara this weekend and he helped get my car pretty dialed. Just couldn't put in that killer run. My boy Billy made the mod A main running this set up also. I'll try to give you a brief run down of the set up now cause after a week of straight racing I might be killed if I'm caught on the computer talking RC stuff.....LOL

Front
pink springs
40wt oil (losi) no foam spacers in bladder
#3 pistons
#2 position on front tower (WE)
outside hole on front arm
1.4 front sway bar
2.0 front block
droop 5mm on blocks (change I made not sure what Hara's was at)
1.5mm shims under all front suspension blocks.
4mm ackerm
3mm spacer under front camber tie rod
arms all the way forward. (spacers in rear of arms)
1.5 of camber
5mm ride height

Rear
silver springs
40wt oil (losi) no foam spacer in bladder
#3 pistons
#1.5 position on rear tower (WE)
middle hole on old arm (outside hole on new arm)
1.2 rear sway bar
3.0 rear block
droop 5mm on blocks (change I made not sure what Hara's was at)
1.5 mm shims under all suspension blocks.
rear hub spacers 0.75 in front 2.0 in rear
2mm spacer under rear camber tie rod
arms all the way back (spacers in front of arms)
1.5 of camber
5mm ride height

I was using the Black Cyclone with all the hop up's and Billy had a WE with a 3m racing 5 cell chassis with the new arms. His car was slightly better than mine but I think it's because he's a better driver. Our laptimes were only 2 tenths off but he was more consistent. This is what Hara had us put on our cars.

One thing to note. The setups most used at Reedy are very unique because of the conditions of the track and tires used.It really is like no other place I have raced before.I think alot there would agree.Gotta love the CYCLONE!

The inserts that Speedmind uses really hurt the tire's performance a little but was still better than everything else we were sent to test with. These same tire's with hara inserts, Yok firms, or sorex firm B's would have been much faster and wouldn't over heat like these did. You had to adjust your driving and set up's slightly but it was the same for everyone.

The only thing I'm going to get is the new arms. I already have the new diff in the car and nothing else is a must have. I just need to find some alloy ZERO degree hubs for the car. I think HB only offers a 1 degree rear hub. I'd prefer the ZERO. Hara said ever though you can put on a 2 degree rear block and get a total of 3 it's not the same feel. He prefers 3 inboard and ZERO outboard.

Default Which springs?

I'm looking at the HPI spring chart here http://www.hpi-europe.com/pdfs/spring_chart.pdf, which has duplicate colors.

Can anyone tell me which set of springs I should be looking at for the Cyclone?

HPI Pink: #6849 (15.2lb/in) or #6759 (30.2lb/in) or #6548 (Pro4 17.9lb/in)
HPI Silver: #6825 (8.6lb/in) or #6543 (Pro4 16.9lb/in)
HPI Gold: #6826 (11.2lb/in) or #6544 (Pro4 19.0lb/in)

There are also 4 different blues, 4 reds, 5 yellows, 2 whites... am I looking at the right chart?

Thanks.

Yeah,I was told that Bob. His setup is really really close to what I have been running except for the front silver springs.
