Does anybody here replace their kit every few months? I know some fast guys locally that buy fresh sedans (the same kit) every season because of "wear & tear".

I dunno, i don't understand it and I never did? Thats great you get fresh bulkheads, diffs, shocks, chassis, CVD's, etc. But what if all those parts are striaght? Why replace?

I saw that Andy moore builds a fresh car for every big race

I know I just do a big re build, Tear it down piece by piece and check all the parts.. Id love to have a new kit, but I dont see the point (for me).....

I doubt it is necessary for every big event. he probably does it just coz he can get a new kit for every event. after about 6 months of racing Mod the car can get a bit 'wobbly' and so its hard to compete with a car that pretty much changes every run.

I've just bought a rear WCE shock tower to replace one on my original black cyclone. I've just discovered that the holes in the WCE tower are higher than the original. Because of this I can only set my droop at 6 or less as the shock aren't long enough for me to set the droop where I want.

Have other people found this too? What's the solution? Is it just a case of lengthening the shock?

The WCE is much higher spec, with all the hop-up parts you'd need to buy for the TC... Remember, the TC was designed to be a low-cost, entry level car, so they left off all the good bits. The only problem is they also forgot to lower the price tag...

Buy the WCE

Thanks, actually didn't realize the TC was/is an entry level car.Haven't seen much fact about to be honest.Just that it's the new car.And yes, you're right about the price tag.Looks like a WCE for me.Mario.

Id say its a tough call, mainly cause the TC has the new diff, which is probably worth getting.

I dont think its that much lower a spec the main thing which bugs me is that the turnbuckles are not titanium, however, if you are not running 5 cell mod or your car is underweight anyway its probably not gunna be that much of an issue.
Also with the delrin diff halves on the TC you are probably better off upgrading to aluminium if you are racing 19T or a faster motor.

The cyclone S is the entry level car, the TC is more of a standard race spec car as opposed to the WCE which is fully optioned.

fresh plastic? But the parts are all graphite. So what happens to the graphite after mod racing?

The parts in reality are a matrix of plastic and carbon. They are not just carbon fiber. So I mean it needs new plastic ie, arms, knuckles, c-hubs, uprights, ball cups, etc.

BTW,did anyone else see the pics of Hara's car form the Worlds warm up? He ran a cyclone S bottom deck.Wonder what he was testing that for.
