But the 3racing pulleys will not make the Final drive in the 3.6's , you divide the center pulley, by the diff pulleys to get your F-drive

Stock is 39/6=2.4375
39/17=2.294
39/18=2.166

You use the stock belt with the 17 and 18T pulleys? My belts feel tight withthe stock 16T

So I want to run a spool, I'm just not sure where to get it from

Where is the best place to get the updated parts from?
Stormer Hobbies has the version 3 spool in stock.

DOTMAN- yes i run the stock belts. have only moved my adjusted back one notch and they are loose for MOD.

I break in all my bearing and belts for a good 3 to 4 hours with a silver can on the motor run in to ge the bearing and belts good and Seated and free everything up.

I have also not had any problem witht he EXCEL low Fric. belts. but only run them in Stock and 19t.

Can anyone tell me if it is normal to have side to side slop/play in these parts:

1. Rear diff pulley it self is moving side to side in between the diff out drives.

2. Front bearings that hold the spool go side to side in the bulk heads

3. centre layshaft bearing also goings side to side in the bulkheads.

yes to question 1
Not sure about 2
And with 3 you adjust the pullies side to side so thers no movement.

you can shim the front spool to eliminate some of the side to side play. I shim it so that i have very minimal play to ensure i do not have any binding or excussive side to side play.

with the center shaft i also use the pulleys on each end to adjust the amount of play i desire again i adjust it so that i have minimal play to ensure that theres no binding and excessive play.

2. Front bearings that hold the spool go side to side in the bulk heads

There are shims for this, the play shouldnt be excessive and i thought the manual has these shims listed.

3. centre layshaft bearing also goings side to side in the bulkheads

There is a lot of play in there you can set the centre pulleys apart but i have a cyclone s which came with a shim and i use that so the left centre pulley doesnt sit so close to the motor mount.

Actually lying down the shocks gives you more lateral grip. If you want increased steering, change your pivot block in the front. i run on carpet so I use a 0 degree in the front because I don't need the steering. the higher you go up with the pivot block in the front, the more steering that you will get.

You may be right Ice. I know that when i am going down a straight and my car doesn't reach max speed by the time I get to the end of the straightaway, I will go to a smaller pinion because it will spool up faster and get me to my top speed at the middle of the straight instead of by the end.

here's a question. I don't normally change my spur, I use the 100 tooth. Am I confusing this with the pinions? In other words when you go to a smaller pinion, doesn't that give youmore torque and the larger the pinion the more top end you get?

I always have my car geared right so something is working. lol.
