With the Reedy race quicly approaching, who here will be in attendance representing the Hot Bodies crew???? Last year was lonely in the A-main against all xray's and corally's, we need more representation!

You do not need to waste money on these new bulkheads. All you need to do is use the Kinbrough Spur gear, 108T 64P, and you can run your 3.5/4.5 motors fine. The Diameter of the Kmbrough spur gear is a little bigger than the rest, which allows it to mesh like if its a 110T gear. I speak from experience...

I'm sorry but I don't understand how that would work. The gearing is down to the number of teeth, not the diameter as such. If the diameter is larger then the teeth must be larger meaning that the meshing isn't quite right, even still, you would get the same FDR as you would if you had any other make of 108 spur gear. Also, if it's the same diameter as the 110 then why not just use that?

Because you are climbing the same distance while taking less stairs. You get the taller gearing without turning extra teeth. huh duh huh de de de

John D, interesting to see not many of the HB drivers balanced their cars left to right. I have to put about 30 odd grams on the batt side to make the car balanced, and that is running 6 cells, in that format they must be well over 100 grams out of balance.

I know your an advocate of balanced chassis did you enquire?

Besercoe

Yes, you are right. In general, not just the HB drivers, it seems not to be a major concern having the chassis well balanced left/right.

As odd as it may sound, other details are of greater importance in order to make the car run well.

There are though some manufacturers that are concerned with balance and produce prototype parts for their top drivers.

But as a note.. Juho's TC5 which won the race, was probably quite a lot out of balance as one can see how the motor plate is even further to the outside from the rear bulkhead making the motor hang out quite a lot. Never the less this car dominated the race.. so go figure...

Of course I still remain obsessed with balance even though there are probably other things I should be paying attention to..
