I installed the ORION brushless with the EFRA 5 cell configuration.

It turned out pretty clean, as more space is now available for the electronics.

Thanks Ballsie,

I do give great attention to the wiring layout. It does take a lot of time, but I believe that the cleaner you have your electronics layout the more you avoid having problems.

Also less wire means less weight!

For sure I also used to be slopy with the wiring, not giving much attention to it, but that changed when at some point I had interferiance and could not locate the problem. This, in combination with being at the 2004 Worlds, and seeing upclose all the beautifully built cars of Hara, Masami, and a number of other pros, it made me a freak of wire neatness!

John - is that huge tripple cap sitting ontop of the ESC yours? Or part of the "Orion" BL system?...

That's one big cap... Just three Novak caps wired in parallel?

Cheerio!

On the photos with the 6 cell configuration there are 3 capacitors.

With the 5 cell configuration, shown above, 2 capacitors are enough.

The capacitors were supplied to me together with the ORION Brushless system, but this is still in "team" version.

The actuall package that might reach the stores soon, might have different caps inside. I have no idea to be honest.

Hey Guys,

Just on the spur thing, I just ran at our National Titles with my Cyclone and I am using a 112T Spur gear. All you need is a slight bit of dremelling of the chassis where the spur goes, as well as the carbon plate if you are using that. The Alloy plate will work fine as is. With this Spur gear, I can get well into the 12s in terms of FDR. After 4 days running with the spur like this, I have only had a little bit more damage, but its not really damage, more just wear. 4 days of running 6 cell with 3.5R Motors will do that to any spur. Still ran smooth at the end and was just as quick as the top guys.
