all honesty buddy,i havent got a chance to run on carpet with my cyclone yet.the 2.5 block seems to be good for asphalt racing.this will give you 2.5 degrees of front arm sweep.it seems to give a little more steering and hold the line better.0 degree arm sweep is ideal for carpet.the only problem you will run into is the it will make the car more narrow in the front.you will need to widen the car by shimming the rims about 1-1.5mm per side.run the 4mm shims under the ball studs on the steering rack and dont run front toe out.run it at 0 degrees.i will be able to be a bigger help after august 5th.i will be testing my new cyclone carpet chassis kit.i will post a good set up when i get it figured out.i am going to start with the setup that jagg88 sent me.

Does anyone know of a suitable upgrade for the stock camber link ballstuds?

Do units from other cars fit? I'm sick of snapping mine at the neck...
It's a bit of a heart wrenching moment ... the thought of having to bin a bulkhead because of a snapped screw is terrible!

I see this is KO Propo wiring, but is it 12GA, 14GA or 15GA.

What's the difference and advantage / disadvantage of one over the other?

Cheers.

is 12GA wire the advantage is your speedo can send more current to your motor. but compare to 14GA like QC2 or QC3 you wont feel much unless you are world champ.

Square makes titanium ball studs specifically for HPI/HB cars. Those are the best you can get.

Anyone know why some people don't use the carbon fibre plate over the spur gear and just use 4 screws instead? (is there any advantages?)

on the original cyclone the carbon plate used to bind on the one-way pulley, they added a lip to the spur mount to stop that happening on the hara/surikarn cars, so the only other reason would be less rotating mass

Anyone know what type of transmitter Andy was using? Is it some sort of KO Propo "Spectrum" Prototype?

Hmm, thats what I was thinking. I can't remember seeing anyone else using a fan on the ESC.

Skill: It was a KO Esprit 3 prototype, theres a thread about it somewhere.
