OK! I am totaly stumped

So In my 10years+ in RC I have built about 2.5 million diffs. Any and every kind.

I was doing some maintenance on my car yesterday and decided to freshen up the diff. So I bust out new rings, balls trust washers, and balls, I take it all appart clean the outdirves degrease all new stuff and get assenble the diff. WTF something is wrong, there's no diff action!! OK so I try several other times I eaven break out the manual just to double check and nothing the outdrives just turn together and the gear is just rotating on it's own. I eaven do my second diff and it's now acting the same way! I swapped in the old parts, nothing I can't figure it out. It looks like Ill be racing 1/12 this week end I just can't figure it out.

Quick question.Hara's setup sheet for foam carpet lists Orion oil in the shocks.Does anyone know how their oil relates to say...AE and Trinity? Is their 40wt,say,lighter,the same,or heavier than Ae or Trinity? Thanks,Mario.

That sounds really bizzare

If you figure it out, please let us know what you did to fix it.

Hi guys

Appreciate it if anybody can tell me the range of 64dp spurs and pinions for the Cyclone?

Is there a suitable 64dp spur/pinion combination to get a final drive ratio of between 9.8 to 10.40?

Thanks in advance

Sounds like, the spring for the diff bolt, wasn't included in the rebuild? HEY! Maybe, its a spacer / shim issue?!

I prefer you keep spurs ranging from 98teeth to 108 teeth. This way you can play along the gearing on stock and mod. Pinions from 27 teeth to 44 will do as well. Use higher spurs for mod racing. Have a great race!

Thanks for the info Geetoo

So based on the range you have provided, the highest ratio is only 9.75... any idea if it is possible to get higher in the Surikarn or Hara edition Cyclone ?

Is there any 15T middle pulley available to raise the internal ratio?

I want to get a ratio of 10 or higher for the GTB 4.5R set that I am using, so just making sure that the Cyclone can get the ratio I need before getting it

You may just about be able to fit a 25 or 26 tooth pinion on with the 108 spur but you have to use the 2 screw holes to the right on the motor and not the ones opposite each other. I can fit a 27 tooth pinion on mine with a 106 spur, but haven't tried anything lower than that so I could possibly get a 26 on.

i ran my 7x1 today with a 108 spur and i ran a 29 pinion.its when you get into the stock and 19 turn motors is when you need the 100 spur and so on.its tough to get the real big pinions on the car with the 108 spur.

Hello all,

Iím looking for a centre brace for the Cyclone (its goes from left rear bulkhead to right rear bulkhead near the motor - does that make sense?). I think its made by Shooters.

Does anyone know of a online shop that sells it?

Also, does Shooters have their own website? Got a link?

Cheers Ears

You could also try using Tamiya diff pulleys. They have a 35 and 36t pulleys that I'm sure would work. Problem is fugunig out what belt to use.
