As far as I remember, Hara, Surikarn and Miura ( all 3 in A at the worlds in S.Africa ) are employees of Hot Bodies, and I think they can run whatever they like to, but are payed on contract to drive HPI cars, from HPI. Well, perhaps not Miura, who seems to take his driving career not so seriously these days....
As there is the same owner, I guess it was not so difficult for them to try this car out, but I doubt HPI are happy.....
But perhaps there contract with HPI are up to date soon?
Murai and Yoshioka, they are empoyees of HPI Japan, and Andy Moore works for HPI Europe.

I make some sense to call this one HB, as I cannot figure out why HB pay these drivers if they dont have any product?.....
Thanks for giving us some of your thoughts Anders seriously the only good answer or explaination I have heard yet.

if under name of hotbodies, then i think parts supply will be too low cos not much companies over here carry hotbodies stuff. HPI is covered very good and this car is my next if it has good parts support. Looking good HPI/HotBodies

That was my thought originally. Trying to find Hotbodies stuff is really hard in the US.
The only time I ever run into HB stuff on sites around here is for the Twister and the Hammer conversion.
And even those are rare.

well mabe this is the start for HB to start improting their stuff. and just remember this is their first tc car so i guessing that the manufacturing will be much slower than say hpi.

give it a coouple of months and i'm sure they will get their act together(last comment was meant in a good way)

Bigger Brother - pricing is not known yet. I'd imagine if it came with the level of standard bits that the Pro 4 and T1FK'05 kits have then it would be around the same price.

sosidge - HPI Europe actually distribute to the individual country distributors around Europe/Middle East/etc. - Mirage is the UK distributor and sells directly to the model shops.

Is this the new big thing this year , Belt cars now? After the 415 won the IFMAR all these belt cars are coming. Hot bodies, Yokomo, Xray.

Myker*: This is the Hot Bodies car. HPI isn't going to discontinue their flagship car because another company is comming out with one that probably isn't any better.

Axel: It seems the latest thing in car design is the low-CG, belt design. lots of aluminum and a pain in the nether-regions to maintain the diffs. The low-CG belt design/pack down the side design is more pavement oriented, having a low center of gravity and good actual L/R weight balence. Since most outdoor tracks are generally low-grip, the low center of gravity is an advantage that seems to offset the poor weight centralization.

Can we say BANDWAGON!?!?

As soon as the TC4 starts winning all the time, people are gonna start seeing more shaft-drive cars coming out.

Some folks get too worked up with this chassis of the week bullsh*t. Simply choose a platform that is well supported in your area and concentrate on your DRIVING, as no new design will fix a poor driver.

The disadvantage of poor weight centralization (weight towards the center or the car) is offset by the low-cg and actual weight balence

(hanging some items off the chassis to obtain better L/R weight balence is more of an advantage than keeping everything close to the center line in some situations)

axel - XRAY has made nothing but belt cars since they started (other than the M18). And Yokomo started the belt drive trend with the YR4 (I remember a guy driving from Austin and racing in San Antonio to clean up the wins when the YR4 was still a fresh car). HPI had the gearbox/belt RS4 back then ('95?) but Yokomo had the only fully belt-driven drive train.
