I am having what I consider a serious problem. My chassis seem to be tweaked and I canít figure out the cause. Even with all the components loosened up on the car it is still tweaked. I checked the chassis and bulkheads individually and they all checked out ok Itís when itís all together that itís a problem. Where talking enough to rock the chassis from side to side. Believe me Iím not crazy here and where not talking about a rookie here I know my mechanics just to give you a little info on myself, Iím the guy who builds Alex Lopezís, of Team Xray, Cars. This is really pissing me off that a $400+ car is not perfect from the factory.

Please let me know if anyone else is having this problem.

are the screws on the bottom of the chassis level with the chassis or do the heads stick out abit from the countersinking? i no that on most cyclones the countersinking isnt deep enough so the screw heads stick out causing the chassis to not seem flat.

Whenever I untweak my cyclone (once or twice in the 5 times Ive run it, its very resiliant to tweaking) I put it on droop blocks and position the droop blocks where there are no screws.

My friend bent the motor mount on his cyclone and the chassis still pulls down flat.

No one can solve this but you. Start with the lower chassis and start putting on one thing on at a time and checking tweak after each component goes on until you find the one part that causes the tweak.

It could be as simple as one screw hole on one alloy part that is crooked due to a part shifting in a CNC machine. There is no way a quality control person could spot a screw hole being off a few thousandths.

Once you find the problem I am sure HB will take care of it.

This happened to my Mi2's two years ago and it it ended up being a rear diff housing that had a top deck mounting pad that was a few thousandths low. It could have been some momentary tool chatter or an interruption in cooling oil flow that caused it. I had never seen it before and have never seen it happen since.

I asked myself to warranty the part for myself and I did...lol!

why dont you take the top deck off and then see if its tweaked also is the chassi completly flat? on a board i run on carpet with foams and the car never gets tweaked and i always check after each run there must be something there youre missing .

On a high speed track you can go as far as 5.8-6.2 FDR using 42T to 39T.

Anyone know where I can get a 3mm chassis for the Cyclone that does not have the battery slots milled all the way through??

luis,

another thing i would check is all the screws that mount to the chassis.i have had screws that the heads ran eccentric to the threads.i usually replace the screws on the car when i have tweak issues that wont go away.9 out of 10 times it does it.
