Axel: Do you race at Hobbyworld?

The 415 just didn't hook up for me as well as the X-Ray. I got the X-Ray to turn faster laps in two packs than I could get my 415 to do in two months. The 415 is more of a pavement oriented car where the X-Ray excels on carpet. I run carpet pretty much exclusively so I really don't have a need for a mediocre carpet car which strengths lie in the parking lots I'll never set foot on.

Anyway, back to the HB Prototype. As you might have guessed, I'm curious to see if this sucker's gonna be a good carpet car.

....and back to our regular programming:

The pictures of the prototype car are posted on the HOT BODIES site (just follow the links!) so I think that should be a big enough whack with the clue bat to clear up things that are coming out of the rumor mills.

And where are people getting this "price information" from? Tower may list it at $600 when it's first online (they always seem to list new items at enormously high prices) but I doubt it will be anywhere near that.

Maybe they are just using the pro 4 parts to save on prototyping costs, I honestly don’t know."
Thad Garner-
Sounds like he's just as clue less as us why HPI would allow their top driver to enter a race with another brands car! and Thats my whole point unless HPI is getting kick backs from this project they would never allow a top driver to run another MFG car.

Surely nobody buys the "Hotbodies and HPI are independent" line any more?

Hotbodies is clearly HPI's "diffusion" line - trying out things that are either too undeveloped (i.e. touring car proto) or too low quality (i.e. Lightning) to be given the HPI brand.

Are there any Hotbodies distributors in the world that don't also deal with HPI???

Read what Thad actually said. Hara actually WORKS for Hot Bodies as an employee. His first choosen brand would be to drive a Hot Bodies car over an HPI one since he works for HB. Since HB did not have a car he drove the HPI because it is a sister company. The same man owns HB and HPI. I also heard he may be the owner of some other big companies in the industry.

Which all leads back to the other question..."what happens to the Pro4 at big events"?

Does it now become the ugly step child to this new machine?

That's a kind of misleading statement...The same thing could be said about Tamiya, AE, Yokomo, Losi...All distributors carry other manufacturers parts...I know Horizon Hobbies (owner of Losi) carries AE, Tamiya, HPI and HB...does that mean they are all owned by the same people???

Well Franck, I didn't want to hurt you but...

Naaah, just kidding. It's a shame people can't read properly though and understand what they want to, when it's not written.
