Wow just picked up a used cyclone on here and after reading 75% of this thread, I'm worried it was a mistake. Seems parts are hard to find now days..
I plan to drift it and feel drifting is alot easier on the drivetrain but still, if i need something it's going to be a tough find for lots of the parts.. Thank god it cam with spare parts and is already set of for drifting.. Still lookforward to adding my .02 to this thread and maybe helping figure out parts that work..

no, you'll be fine for parts...most of the suspension parts are the same on the TC, TCX and TCXX...they just go on runs, where parts go a little dry for a couple of months...belts are still available - just might have to go to ebay vs the LHS

as long as you don't crack a chassis, you'll be fine...

you're right, drifting is easier on the chassis - so you'll be fine

After looking around more I'm not as worried about it but think I will pick up a few extras for those dry times just in case. But will wait till I get it on friday to check it all out and decide on things that look worn to me..

actually, if you're looking for 2 spare chassis (and even some aluminum front knuckles and rear hubs), shoot me a PM...I found 2 chassis from my cyclones that I replaced with a exotek chassis...one even has a weighted plate for lipo/electronics balancing

Hey guys, I'm looking for some new spur gears and wondering if anyone knows where I can get some. Right now I'm running 109/29 gearing and my FDR is high so would like to get it down so I dont over rev my motor. Whats the biggest pinion you can go with a high count spur? All I find is 96+ spurs but not sure what pinion whould fit to get my FDR down. Thanks for any help..

are you running 17.5 or mod? if you're running 17.5, you'll want a smaller spur and larger pinion to get a FDR is the mid-4's

if you drop to, for example, 88-95t spurs, you'll get a much better range of gearings..

I know on mine, I've had 88/55 - and i still think i had room for another tooth or too

I'm running or soon to be running a 3200Kv/SV2 for drifting. Been collecting everything for a few weeks now and am now needing to get my FDR down. I'm hearing a FDR of 6 is a good spot to be but having trouble finding Spurs other then the 100+ range. If you have ran a 88/55 do you think I will be able to fit a 95/34? Even at that I still need to find some spurs.. Know of any that work or where I can find some?

probably would fit. don't really now - never ran anything with that high of a FDR in the car

where are you looking for spurs? I know kimborough will work, as well as many others...I've use kimborough, xenon, 3racing in mine without any issues

you can find them at towerhobbies, speedtechrc, tq rc racing - pretty much all over

I have a non brushless mount on mine. Using a 96 spur, the smallest pinion I could make mesh is a 39. I have 83/54 on the other car, but it has the brushless mount.

That what I was looking for, spurs from other companies that worked. I didn't know what ones did or didn't and couldn't find any smaller once made by hotbodies.

I ended up ordering an 88T spur (Kmborough) and a 50T-55T pinion. I hope these will give me a good mesh to atleast get started.. FDR will end up at 3.5-3.8 depending what pinion I run, that is if they fit..

Can any one tell me what 64p spur and pinion would fit the Cyclone TC to achieve a FDR of 5.7, and provide some adjustment either way?

The TCX unit will fit, but it is too narrow. You must shim it out to the bulkheads, but it will work.
