What other parts do i need to make the 416 gear diff fit the Cyclone besides front and rear pullies, belts and tamiya dogbone? I ask because i want to use a gear diff at the ROAR nats in August and i doubt we will get one to fit our cars anytime soon. Thanks

Eric

i know a guy did it with an NT1 gear diff and used the original TC pulley on the rear. no need to change the pulley up front.

it needed quite a rework though, to align the pulley when attached to the diff...

Default Clicking noise in Front End

My Cyclone Tc has a intermitent clicking noise in the front end. I took the front end out of it and cleaned everything. Has anyone ever experienced this before? If so, what did you do to clear it up?

i have just recently jumped back into 1/10 scale TC after 20 years! i was actually doing it when the only car out there was the Tamiya and it was fun! i now am heavily into mini z's and actually make a living machining parts for them. i am also sponsered by Reflex racing so i can wheel pretty good. i recently purchased a cyclone TC and by nature i am already drawing up and trying to come up with ideas of parts to make, so what do you need? i have a CNC mini mill and a Mazaak QT lathe so i can pretty much make anything as long as i can keep the quantities high enough to warrant the R+D. so far i see that we need some kind of simple gear diff conversion, a better LIPO holding system for the stock chassis and i dont like how the rear spur rides to one side crooked, although it may not make a performance difference it drives me crazy. at any rate check out my website mantisworx.com and let me know what we need!

im running a cyclone tc with 16t pulleys ,tekin 17.5 with mamba max pro esc. for some reason cant get temps under 180 even running 100/30(64 pitch) spur pinion combo. im running 50 cheat boost on esc and 12 degrees timing on the motor. i have the boost set for 5200- 20k. when i run less cheat or timing my car cant touch the other cars at the track mostly everyone is running 17.5 full tekin combo.anyone else running mmpro have any setups i can try?

i believe you should adjust the motor timing back to zero, and let the ESC take care of the timing adjust..
i could be wrong... guys with tekin could give more info...

Check the pin that connects the drive shaft to the axel - if it backs out even a little bit, it can hit the hub carrier which will cause a 'ticking' sound. Easiest way to check this is to turn the wheels out, and rotate the wheel while looking for the pin. It should be flush on axel cup - if it's sticking out, reset it. Make sure you put loctite on the set screw holding the pin in place.

See #17 in the assembly instructions if what I've detailed above isn't clear.

Hey MantisWorx,

The only think i can think of is making the front /rear toe blocks at different degrees. People had to make holes in chassis to make the toe blocks fit at different degrees but if you can make some that fits the stock holes, that would be great. Also some sort of conversion to fit a gear diff in the Cyclone would be nice as well. I still love my cyclone and even when the TCX comes out, im still keeping this car

Thanks

Does anyone know how to search by date on the Gear Chart website? Can't find any setup sheets newer than 2009.
