Default Gearing 17.5T motor

I will be using Mamba Max Pro in sensored setup. It has co called "CHEAT MODE". Thanks for the advice, now I know what to expect (everything still in the mail) and how to deal with it.

Checkpoint's power /Cyclone TC chassis combo is MAXIMUM FAST!
Looking forward to see the improvement tomorrow.

I wonder how the Checkpoint motors compare to the Duos or Novaks? Especially in the spec winds.

Korey, what is the difference (if any) between running 4 deg castor with 2deg of kick-up in the hinge pins and a 6 deg castor block with no kick-up ?
Thanks.

Hmmm that is something I have not tested in a long time. Whenever I run kickup... it helps with steering off power, but kills any on power steering as it promotes weight transfer to the rear of the car when on power.

I would think the 6 deg with flat pins would be a little more balanced. It would just be smooth entering corners, and provide more steering through the middle and exit. With kickup... it makes the car jack weight around more specific to your throttle input.

Maybe someone has some more recent experience with this? If anyone does, please jump in.

You know I added kick up to your parking lot set up in hopes of getting the feel of having 6 degree caster blocks. My take on it is that the higher blocks angle the the caster blocks back allowing the car to feel it has more steering on power. I figured kick up tries to acheive the same thing with the angling of the caster blocks but has a slightly different feel to it. Do I have this correct? It felt great on the track and the results were there with my laptimes dropping.

Yea. It should feel different as you are changing about 3 things when you do the kickup change. You're changing caster, roll center, and kickup. With just the cast blocks change... all you are changing is caster.

It's something I guess I should test a bit sometime soon. I'll let everyone know what I find.

Get to testing so that the rest of us "REGULAR" racers have a clue The car was a rocket with kick up Didn't work too well out at Speedworld though

Hiro, will barry be posting his setup? Do you think it will lend itself well to stock 17.5? I know my car can make 20 laps but im having trouble (driver errors i guess) making it there. Fastest lap for me with 17.5 so far is 15.132. Im not sure if its setup or driver but with the same setup I have, ive gone from 15.5 to 15.3 to 15.1 fast lap. Just gotta stay consistent i guess (and i suppose my outdated GTB isn't helping much either at this point).

I had good results with .5mm of kick up at NorCal. I have not been able to drive in a while but when I get back it is something I want to try again. It smoothed out the entry a little and gave me a little more steering in the middle and off the corner. It helped keep my speed up on the switch backs. I must have "forgot" to tell STLNLST.....LOL This was on the TOP Spec Tire.

Maybe you should have told Romo to run some kick up
