They usually mark things as discontinued if they will not carry it anymore. It doesn't really reflect that the manufacture as discontinued the product, just they have made the decision to not stock it anymore.

thats Korey's way of saying there's a new car coming without really saying it.

Disclaimer: The statement made above in no way reflects the opinions of Hot Bodies or Korey Harbke. I have no clue if a new car is coming from Hot Bodies or not. I'm just giving Korey a hard time.

I know that you can use Tamiya thrust bearings as the screw in the standard cyclone diff is 2mm (pro spec is 2.6mm).

As far as diff rings, I usually always just sand mine with 400 and 600 grit sandpaper until the grooves are gone. Do it in a figure 8 pattern, and I use one of the diff outdrives as a "handle" to make sanding a little easier. I can't seem to find the part number HB used on those older style diff rings though... Maybe Hiro can jump in.

Diff balls are just plane 3/32 (2.4mm) diff balls that a bunch of other companies use as well. That should take care of the diff rebuild unless there is further damage to the diff.

Depending on price of origional chassis, you might consder the HBX by Exotec. If your lazy you can get the battery strap as well.

+1 on the exotek chassis - its very sweet and everything lines right up

the battery-holder weights are great - makes balancing it out and making minimum weights much easier

with the stock chassis i had to add 70ish g of weight - with the chassis (and same equipment), I was 1g light

Default motor recommendation

New to on-road...how many turns motor (or Kv) would you recommend for Cyclone S with NIMH setup for bashing and possible future racing in modified class?

My local indoor track allows 17.5-13.5 but that seems too little for bashing.

Thanks!
