Dang that Exotech chassis looks sweet! I love the lipo mounting setup, and the battery hold down strap. Hate taping batteries in. HB should be taking notes for their next revision of the car.

Not sure I can justify spending $100 for chassis and battery strap just for the limited VTA running I do. Maybe someday soon.

Car was super locked in while driving on a medium grip temporary track against factory drivers.
Thanks to IIGQ4U for the footage.
When will this be available?

Hi, I just finished building a new TC, and I had a few build questions. I tried using search, but didn't find everything that I needed.

1) Should you put loctite on all the screws that go into the bulkheads? The instructions don't say to, but it seems like you would want to.

2) The sway bar ends on the front of the car come extremely close to hitting the drive shafts. What do people do to avoid this?

3) The steering linkage seems to rub on the FR suspension block. It looked like some people suggested sanding the block, but I don't want to mess up the purple It looks like once the weight of the car is on all 4 tires, then the steering linkage may clear better, but is there something else that can be done to help the clearance?

4) Finally, when mounting the shocks on the shock end balls, there is a lot of play left in the mounted shock. Are you supposed to tighten the shocks to the point where the shock end balls expand and take up the slop? I could do this on the shock tower, but I couldn't when tightening up the bottom shock mount on the a-arm.

Thanks in advance!

>> i've put threadlock on the bottom screws only. the ones on top don't need it i think. also put threadlock on the lower screw holding the steering knuckle to the c-hub...

2) The sway bar ends on the front of the car come extremely close to hitting the drive shafts. What do people do to avoid this?
>> add the 2mm spacer to the front of the arms instead of behind them

>> when the chassis is on the ground on all 4 wheels, and after you set-up the droop, it should clear the suspension block by a fraction of an mm... but sanding it down is still a good idea to avoice any jamming during runs.

4) Finally, when mounting the shocks on the shock end balls, there is a lot of play left in the mounted shock. - i chucked the shock ball ends and used Xray's pivot bushings for the top and the longer lower shock ends with some 10mm grub screws...

hope this helps

No need for locktight. You are putting a steel screw into a alum. bukhead.

You can turn the plastic part of the mount that connects to the bar.
3) The steering linkage seems to rub on the FR suspension block. Most set-ups call for 1.5mm under the blocks. That should makeit clear.

You can tighten the nut until the plastic takes up the play or you can buy http://www.hotbodiesonline.com/products/en/61326.html and not worry about the slop.
Thanks in advance!

Just built a new TC, ready for this years first indoor race on sunday.
Wiring needs a lot more work, but the speedo is temporary so didn't feel like putting too much work into it..

Mike R, sick driving dude.

if that second place dude (that you passed) wasn't holding you back, you'd be battling for first.
