Hey,

I'm running a Cyclone S Drift Special Edition. Using a 96t spur with 39t pinion with 2.4375 transmission rate which makes the gear ratios at 6.00.

Got a new motor recently, a 13turn brushed motor..upgraded from my previous 25turn brushed motor.

Will there be any change in the gear ratios because of the increase amount of RPM generated from the new motor? Would it be best to change the spur/pinion size so I dont have to deal with overheating my ESC?

At the moment my ESC maintains about 60 degrees celcius before I installed a cooling fan. Motor maintains about 58-60 degrees celcius with heat sink and fan.

Any advice on the gear size? I would like to maintain a gear ratio of 6.00 with the 13turn brushed motor.

Thanks!

its happening with me too.. i think that hb can put a axle and screw to fix the pulley. in Cyclone S the central pulley, is fixed with axle, maybe in TC hb can fixed with axle and screw.. maybe that way. we dont need to put a much lock adesive in screws.

Hi Coldn;5838251
The best way round the problem of the grub screw coming lose on the centre lay shaft pulley, is to drill 3 more holes in the pulley, and file a flat on the opposite side of the flat that is already on the lay-shaft, so that you can have a grub screw holding either side of the lay-shaft, then if you strip out one of the holes in the pulley, you utilize the other 2 holes to do exactly the same thing, hope this makes sense but don't forget to lock-tight the grub screw.
TCCFM

Oh and another tip, on the purple spur holder, you are told to put 1 grub screw in to hold it onto the lay-shaft, its advisable to put another 1 on top of that 1, that way the 1st 1 don't come undone, as it acts like a locking nut.

2nd heat - my batt came loose (first time on strap tape) ... so i abandoned.

3rd heat - was in 2nd place, but i made couple mistakes and ended 6th overal.

It was a great weekend, i won on GT Class and even when i didnt ended good on touring electric, im very very happy with the car, i already put the full graphite parts but the car still its heavier than TC5 or XRAY's.

Im preocupied with the final speed because im already on 3.94 FDR , engine its cool but still lacks just a little of final speed, thats on 13.5 brushless + nimh 6 cells on rubber/asphalt.

Here are couple pics, red car its mine :

Hope to make it better next time ...

cya !!

what track is that at

Questions??

Hi,

Does anyone know what is causing the delay on the Hot Bodies Cyclone TC Kits (67700) being available in the hobby stores

Places like Stormer and Tower have not had a kit for some time. In fact Tower indicated availability as Mid-May, then Late May, and now Mid June

Any ideas

Thanks in advance

The Black edition is just the normal one. It was one of the first kits to come out.
