I'm suprised that a "mistake" like that could happen at such a big race.

I still have both types of a complete C2 motor. The earlier production which is using hemi-wind arm and the later revision which is using the cross wrap arm.

The earlier C2 endbell doesn’t have the circuit brd installed on the endbell, the newer C2 got the capacitor circuit brd install on the back of the endbell.

I have to use the hemi-wind replacement arm in the earlier C2 can and cross wrap in the newer C2 can or they will runs backward.

I have read it here somewhere, someone say C1 doesn’t have a comm lock. I think the photo is the C1 and it does have a comm lock from the look of it.

By swapping them around, wouldn't the timing be backwards also???

Instead of neg. 24 it would be pos. 24.....

Guys it is simply a broken rule! It doesn't matter if they were trying to gain an advantage or not! It would be the same if you went to a race and the spec tire was a premount CS27 and you went ahead and mounted CS27's on CS wheels with a CS insert. Not what the rules called for. It is a shame that 2 great drivers got DQ'd but these were the rules and were the same for all the racers. PERIOD!!

As far as the timing is concern I don’t think you will retard the timing by solder the wire backward.

If you hold the motor and look straight down at the endbell. Say hold it in such a way that the positive tap is on the left and negative is on the right. Now rotate the can 180 degrees, now the tap on the left is negative and positive on the right. Notice the angle on the endbell, only different is you have to solder the positive wire onto the negative tap. And your positive wire will always be on the left.

So, I don’t think the timing is altered.

I don´t knoww how any Trinity motor looks like at all, but I found it wierd that Chad, Trinitys own motor man can make that kind of mistake.
In my opinion, it´s strange as well, why he even brougt something that was not legal to the race in the first place. Don´t get that .
