It's an unfortunate situation, but all the blame is not with the drivers. The motor man is someone that they probably trusted. It sucks that it happened but like others have said, we don't know the full story; so we should not pass judgement so quick.

sadly, the mere suspicion of impropriety is almost as bad as the impropriety itself

but it's true

In the end, every drive should know what's in their car

I was at the track when the whole deal happened, believe me it was not Alex or Bobby's fault. Both of them have motors handed to them and they are told to just bolt them in......you can't blame them for this one.

Neither one of those guys need to break the rules for something as stupid as a C1 arm with a C2 can. Any 19t is legal at this race. Looked to me from the look on Chad's face that he screwed up, big time.

The 19t rules are dumb anyways.....they should of just done a hand out...elimantes this type of crap.

And how can you blame bobby or alex? Please show me one team driver who gets his motor from the team motor man and then takes it apart?......stupidest thing I have ever heard.

Chad probably made an assumption the motor would be OK.....the rules are pretty loose.....Chad doesn't cheat, just sounds like he made a mistake. There is no advantage in running a c1 arm in a c2 can....

Default 19T

is the C-1 arm that much faster?

or was it just the point of in rules that mixing parts is not allowed?

When I get a motor from Tag at a race I dont do anything but put it in my car and pull the trigger. You definatley can't blame the racers.

I don't think that the drivers will be labled cheaters,I think it was a mistake that they both regret and will have to move on!

i would normally agree 100% with eddie's post, but if they had to solder the the polarity backwards, then it was fairly obvious it wasn't a 'normal' c2 arm. so either they knew and did it anyway, or they are not very knowledgeable about the products they've been running for years (which i doubt).

my only point, the drivers would not be completely blameless. this is not to say there was any ill intent, they simply may not have been aware of the rules.

actually of more interest (at least to me) was e.j. evans getting his first round 19t tq round dq'd for not immediately going to tech. as harsh as it was, it's good to see the race organizers holding firm to the rules without exceptions.
