There wasn't a handout. The Reedy quad mag, the Trinity C2, and the Orion Element/Peak Dynasty motors were allowed.

I used an Orion Element cut down to .279, Orion red springs +/-, F brushes +/- (full face - any hi silver brush would work really), geared at 5.31 (I may have been overgeared a tooth or two )

You were using a laydown motor instead of the V2?

Hi Jon, yes it was the laydown Element. It's fast and I'm sure in the hands of a competent motor tuner (I don't think I'm one ) It would be even better.

You didn't have Oscar or JP doing your motors?

This being my first time on carpet, I wasn't expecting a good result as it is a learning experience. I didn't feel like approaching them and requesting their valuable time on tuning a motor which would end up in a car with a noobie driver that may put it into the boards a whole bunch of times.

Remember the RC Scoring Pro auction for Hurricane Relief begins soon! First item up for bid is David Jun's Tamiya from the IIC race in Las Vegas. David is mailing me some different tires and a different motor, so as soon as I have everything I will start the ad on eBay.

From David:

The car is one of my two race chassis for the 2005 season. It is a 415 MS that is set-up for asphalt racing with just about all the hop-ups. It also has the Pro-Module rear suspension. The electronics include a Futaba HRS (High Response System) micro receiver, LRP speed control, Futaba S9550 Servo, Reedy 3300 Worlds Pack and Reedy TI Modified Motor (7x1).

Hop-ups I can think of include:

Full Titanium Screws
Aluminum ball connectors
Low friction ball ends
Low friction belts
Titanium Nitride coated Shock shafts
TRF Blue low friction shocks
Solid center pulley
TRF Spool
Pro-Module rear suspension

Bid often, this is for a good cause!

Hey Doug, email me a pic of that car ASAP if you can so I can put a blurb in the mag. Thanks!

Keith, I put your job story in the mag too...
