Default IDP Frequency Checker

Hey guys,

In RC Extreme Magazine, number 110, I'm hoping for some further information:

On page 43, there is a brief preview of an IDP Frequency Checker, which seems to be
a good idea for a club to have. I tried looking at the website listed
(http://www.bestsmps.com), however its all in Korean and the english doesn't work (so
its not easy hehe). Can you tell me where I can go to get more information or
availability on this item?

Any help would be appreciated, I am after 29mhz/40mhz if that matters.

I can't see the link but if it's a small black box with lots of leds on it I've had it my hand.

Very cool indeed. You switch it on and it starts to scan all the channels on a given freq band (40, 27, 75 ...). You have to buy the one for your freq band. It is either 40, 75, 27 etc

At every pass the leds corresponding to the freqs in use stay lit.

Very small and I'm sure very useful for clubs and race organizations and much cheaper and "visual" than more professional scanners.

As you can see I'm from Portugal and a very good friend of mine is the importer for our market of IPD radios and this freq checker.

I can get more details about it since I'm going to be with him today.

I'm going to get the details of the manufacturer and web site (I've seen it, it exists LOL)

I'll send you a PM if you want. I'm going to have my own scanner. I'm tired of glitches at the track due to people not knowing their freqs.

Ah ok, sure.

I'm waiting for the email with the URL.

I have the unit on my desk here. In this case a small box 5x9 cm aprox. (smaller than a pack of cigarettes for all you smokers out there )
It uses 3 AAA cells and (in this case has a led for each channel - 40 Mhz).

From 40.255 to 40.995 (47 leds ) . You switch it on and the leds light up sequentialy. When one channel has emission the led stays lit.
Very neat and hopefuly very inexpensive.

Still waiting for the email. I'll post the URL here as soon as I get it

This usit is for checking your channel or for checking the channels that are transmitting at the moment?

Checks all the channels transmiting at the moment. In a final if you have more than 10 leds or less than 10 there's something wrong

Tres, as far as I know not yet but it seems to be a very simple device altough with good construction.

I'll post more details as soon as I get them. Next weekend I'm going to be the frequency at the track where I race
