You can process LiPos similarly to NiMh cells... for higher average voltage. 7.7vdc throughout an entire run will be faster than 7.5... given a driver to take advantage of it.

Blinky classes have and will push racers willing to do so to look for an edge over everyone else. In blinky you may think its the motor or battery of the week... when in actuality its just good ol determined to win racer effort at play.

The fast get faster... and the slow run... blinky. Ill run nitro before i ever sign up for a ROAR sanctioned blinky class... and i HATE nitro...

Didn't that work so well we are not doing it now!!

There will always be tolerances in anything that is made. If they fall in your favour you get a good motor and speedo, and if they don't...

For once, this is something that doesn't favour democracy (defined as ten idiots capable of stopping one genius!) and we need a benign dictatorship. The National Associations should get together, make a decision and tell us what it, and then we should get on with it. Just my thoughts...

Setting a land speed record is about going fast.

A good race can only happen when everybody is in control, and capable of similar lap times. THEN you're racing.

And you all wonder why Onroad racing has declined!?

Speed is always going to be associated with racing. If it's not fast it's not fun right?

So when will on road get a "short course" class?

Some would consider VTA that class, but there is still no RTR that is 100% legal and competitive for any onroad class. I think that would probably help bring people in.

The only time I found blinky really fun to drive was with a 4.5

We get more entries now that things are slower and simpler. This was not the case when things were faster and more complicated a couple years ago.

Maybe things are different in your area but this is what is happening where I live.

What mongoloid is cooking a motor every week? Is the idea of tuning burn a motor, then back timing off until you stop burning them up? If someone is that much an idiot no amount of arguing about boost or no boost will save them money.

lol mongoloid.

On road racing declined long before boost was even introduced. I don't see a reason why SS and faster type classes wouldn't just run open speedo rules, there is always a power battle blinky or not, its interesting to see who figures it out and who doesn't. It seems though as all the US based major races have gone away from it, which generally means local tracks will follow.
