I'm waiting on the Yeah Racing drift package to come out for the Sprint 2.
Building a HPI RS4 Sport 3 in the meantime.

According to Yeah Racing the new Sprint 2 RWD package will include wide angle steering to replace the stock steering system. Here's hoping its sliderack.

Hi all i have a sprint 2 with a 9.5t setup with an xp d1015 servo my question is when i turn left it will act like its loose and spin out but when i turn right its locked in tight even on cold asphalt on vintage tires from a camaro sport any info would help im more of an offroad racer so this stuff with no jumps is new to me

Just picked up a Spint 2 for my son. Reading the manual it says to not run motor below 14T. Wouldn't the Flux 5900KV be a lot more than a motor below 14T. Was there any reason they put that in the manual?

I have an old RS4 Sport 2 that I recently revived, but now I'm wondering if I should sell it and pick up a new Sprint 2. Beside the fact that it's a relic, should be rebuilt and parts are hard to find, it's also 190mm.

Don't get me wrong, it's a fun car - just want some opinions from others on whether to keep or get an updated kit?

It's kind of hard to say right now with HPI in the current situation they are in, but if it's purely from a parts availability perspective, Sprint 2 is the way to go. Parts availability for that chassis are readily available on the internet. Although HPI option parts were long ago discontinued for the Sprint 2, between Exotek, Yeah Racing and GPM, there's nothing carbon fiber or aluminum you can't find. Most plastic parts are still available from HPI as well.

I wouldn't quite sell that chassis though, as it is a relic and may one day have parts support again. Plus, used Sprint 2's are sold dirt cheap on a daily basis. You can find new condition rollers for well under $100 on the Internet and I've seen complete used Sprint 2 (minus a body) go for as little as $50-$60 many times.

Ah yes, I have a few old HPI's right now, maybe I should wait to see what Ripmax does. Thanks for the reply, really appreciate it; I'll keep an eye out for some used ones.

Here is my build. I finally soldered it up and took it for a test run.

Next, I will shorten the wires and fix up the 3D printed rat's nest which holds the BEC, capacitor and receiver.

I am not sure that I can really shorten the motor wires though.

Understood. Finding parts and making them fit was 80% of the fun.
