Orion Revolution Brush Break In

Looking to see what techniques are being used to break in brushes on a hot modified motor like the Orion Revolution. Any help or tips will be greatly appreciated!

The orion revolution usually takes longer to break in. Try 2.5 volts, at 0 deg of timing for abotu 5 min to start. Then check the brushes to see if there is wear across the entire face of the brush. Then for about 20 seconds or so, run the motor in at 5 volts at your race timing. This will seat the brushes pretty well...... someone else night have a better way though.

A good friend and also a member of RCtech, John Doukakis, when at the TC worlds, he saw many pros breaking in their motors for 10 minutes at 1V.

so if my charger doesnt have a break in mode, could i just run one or two cells to achieve this low voltage?

How are you guys effectively taking the end bell off of the motors without the brushes collapsing on themselves or smacking the comm as you disassemble the motor?

This is my first experience with one of the TOP V2 motors and would like to hear how any of you are handling this task.

The instructions I got with my V2 showed how to snag the brush shunt on the copper brush guide to hold the brush away from the comm.

Could these brake in methods be used in stock and mod motors or do they need there seperate run in methods?

....Everyone has their own voltage and length of time preference for breaking in brushes, but as long as the brush is shiney on all available contact points , that's whats important....Just trial and error it at anything around, or under 3 volts until you have a good idea on how long yours takes .....it's slightly different for every brush compound and spring combo that you run.......And like others have said, reduce your timing (if the motor permits) to around 0-4 degrees to reduce arcing during break-in
