Thx for the tip! I will order some.

I have reedy 21.5 on all three of my f1's just for consistency. I've had no problems so far. The mechanical timing is super easy to adjust also.

The reedy sonic is pretty popular here, not only in F1 but also in the touring car class because they are completly rebuildable (http://www.teamassociated.com/reedy/parts/details/940/)

Here is a list of 21.5 motors currently available along with their KV rating (taken from internet sources including manufacturers websites at time of writing):

ROAR approved 21.5 motors:

Viper R/C VST 1500 KV
Speed Passion Competition V3 “1 cell” 1700 KV
Team Orion Vortex VST Pro Stock 1750 KV
Novak Ballistic 1800 KV
Reedy Sonic Stock Spec 1851 KV
Speed Passion Competition MMM 2000 KV
Team Epic D3 “Monster Horsepower” ROAR Spec 2000 KV
Tekin Redline 2100 KV

Non-ROAR approved motors:

LRP X12 1700 KV
Team Epic REVTECH ROAR Spec 2500 KV
Trinity D3.5 2800 KV

(as a comparison the Novak Ballistic 17.5 is 2200 KV)

Lightbulb Do Tamiya F201 bodies fit on Tamiya F104?

Hi guys,

Does anyone have any experience attempting to use a Tamiya F201 body set on a Tamiya F104 chassis???

Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks.

I put an F201 body on my F109 which is the same wheel base as the F201 so it should fit. The proportions look just a tad off but still looked pretty good.

What seem to be the best rubber tires for Medium Traction Carpet with 2s 21.5 setup?

Thanks

Most people like the 571/572 Pit combo. We run the 574/572 combo at our track.

TQ racing has Pit groved tires. They are not mounted, but easy to mount on the tamiya foam rims.

Ahhh. I did a horrible job with the pits and tamiya rubber wheels, let alone on foam wheels with no lip.

Ever seen any tire like in pics on exotek link I posted?

Those are real F1 tires. Not available for RC f1.

guess I got fooled..

Ill look around for small 14mm wheels off another car just to drive around. Too bad we can't use touring wheels like the f201 to practice
