21.5 is the best solution for F1 direct drive. It keeps the racing close and the speeds reasonable. Anything faster and the class will die a quick death.

Here in belgium we are thinking of using a carson 16T or 18T sensorless (cause we allways use sensorless motors at the tamiyacup) for our next tamiyacup season (2013), cause we have some several outdoor tracks and they have some large straights.
I think with a 21.5T blinky it would be to slow on those large straights, especially when you allready using a FDR of 2.9 on a small indoor track.

We are running 13.5T motors this year as we after last year running 17.5T motors decided to run 13.5T as the 17.5T was slow.

We are running outdoors our straight is 50meters, total tracklenthg is 187meters

That 18.5 sensor-less is probably similar in speed to our timed 21.5's
So that makes sense

For sure the Euro Nitro tracks are large, and more motor will not be an issue

We gear as low as 2.6 on our "Big" tracks

In holland we use 2 motors in the Tamiya cup.
The Carson cupmachine(similar to the machushi silvercan) and the Tamiya Formula Tuned 32T.
Last motor will be geared as low as 2.6 on the big tracks.
Speed is indeed a bit slow but very driveble and the wear on the tires is low.
When driving it with the 17.5 brushless, the wear on the tires and gears is a lot higher on the outdoor tracks.

We are using the same 2 motors for this years tamiyacup season, the carson cupmachine is faster then a silvercan but looses much to fast it's power.
It isn't the most reliable brushed motor, for best performance you should buy each racing day or at least after 2 racing days a new carson cupmachine motor.
Otherwise you won't keep up with the rest of the field.

That's why we are thinking about brushless motors, they are more expensive but with good care they last much longer.

I just bought f104 v2, need some help on the setup....
I will be using 17.5 brushless motor and running tamiya rubber on carpet...
The track is 30meter straight with technical infield...what fdr should I use...

I run my F104 Sybrand Scythe with 17.5T Team powers with 93/30 ratio asphalt outdoors with foam tyres an itīs just ok, much better than using rubbers. Maybe rubbers is the option for small "parking lots" with 21.5 motors as you do in USA, but for "medium" and "big" nitro tracks 17.5 +foams is much better for me.

Foams are better pretty much everywhere...we like rubber tires because they last longer and look more scale than foams. With foam tires you end up with some people cutting them down really small so they look pretty ridiculous on the car.

Anyone seen the new rear wing mount, the hop up carbon fiber piece? Seems a bit weak, i ordered one before i actually saw it on the car... the other thing is, i can believe it didnt come with an aluminum moutor mount...

I would be super if they could come out with some type of rear diffuser for this car.... We run Rubber and 21.5T motors...
