The Speed Passion SP body and wing set does fit on the F104 v2, if you like the more retro look.

The Front and Rear Wing sets are from 3 Racing (#F113-101 and #F113-102).

Custom paint job thanks to Milts Bodies

Ed,
That was great fun. I had no idea there was a camera!

Always great racing with you!

I gotta get some of the noises out of my F104!(realistic screaming v10!)

I had ordered my son to record it with my iphone.
That race fortunately had my fastest lap of the day, 10.0 sec, and I was able to figure out what made it the fastest. It was my lap #21 and I went wide going into the turn after the braking zone (starting grid for gas cars) following the front straight. That enabled the car to carry more speed. However, I was constantly making the turn too tight all day long. It will help me in two weeks when I race against 14 other cars.

It was very fun and thanks for letting me win the second one to force us to have the 3rd main.

Default Chassis protector

Are you guys using chassis protector for asphalt or not? would it affect the handling of the car if I choose to use one?

I use one that is for 1:1 car "bumper protection film" . Flexy and I cant feel any issues with the handling. Some rc protection films, (like associated film) are really thick and hard, that could affect the flex some, but idk.

The rear pod and the front chassis edge will still wear some.

However... -I will not use another when this wears out, the scratches wont affect anything and the film does change the ride height some.

Is there a best/better way to pop the upper arms on? Just building a new chassis and had forgotten how hard they were to get on the ball studs. As a result, they bind a little and inconsistently on the left and right sides.

Any suggestions?

Phil.

Use a sharp hobby knife to clean the holes a bit.

I use large dia body reamer also if needed . -dont get too much off though, just enough

What do you guys do to reduce slop on the front suspension? I have a lot of it in the outside balls (between ball and plastic) that guide the kingpin. I am not very happy about it, because my car just raced two times and never hit or chrashed into anything.

Maybe someone can give a statement if an front axle upgrade to TRF101 is possible

I don't have any slop on the king pin. The only slop is on the bearings which isn't much at all.

Hey guys, this has probably been asked before, but i'm not through reading the whole thread yet.

How do you guys mount the shorty packs forward on the car without it sliding backwards? Tamiya made holes on the chassis to mount it towards the rear, but i see pics with the battery mounted towards the front, and no fiber tape holding it down...
