Hey guys. I need help with the correct shorty battery pack selection. Reedy has 2 options that I am considering.

4000mah 60C
Dimensions: 94x47x25.1
Discharge: 60C Cont, 80C Burst
Weight: 202g

or

4100mah 65C Competition
Dimensions(mm): 96x47x24.8
Discharge: 65C Cont, 120C Burst
Weight: 211g

+1 ...but I use Tamiya double side tape (which is a bit thicker than others). The shape of Exotek is useful when Kimbrough saver is used. If You use laid down servo setup and Kimbrough saver steering links collide with stock servo holder...

Honestly, either one is fine. You won't get any advantage. The funny thing is, I have the Reedy 4000 and an Losi Exceleron 3800 that I bought brand new. I cycled each one, twice, and found that the Losi had better numbers. Both had about the same mAh, but the Losi had a lower internal resistance.

Default shorty pack mounting

Looking to purchase this kit and have decided to use my existing shorty packs.

Is there a preferred method in securing these? For example, I don't see a rear stop, or a second set of mounting holes in the rear of the chassis should you want to attach the ESC in the rear. I would assume you don;t want the battery slamming into your ESC in the event of a hard impact.

Just curious on what those using shorty packs have found to work best.

It is possible to secure the battery with battery tape, the chassis has 2 long cut-outs for using the battery tape.

shorty pack stop: I shoo-goo'd a plastic bar, an old servo horn, on the chassis in front of my rear mounted esc to stop the battery, and I use tape

been on the fence for the V2. Question is, will my lap times get better from my f104? Running on outdoor asphalt treated with sugar water using rubber tires.

this is my track

I thought you were running a V2? I'm planning on running my F1R in the next race and if it does better than my FGX I will probably pick up a F104V2 after that.

v2 will seem more consistent on a medium to low traction surface where you need that extra rear stability.

Better lap times? .... depends upon what you are dealing with on your v1. In the end, a better driver makes for better lap times.

TRF Shock Help?

I'm racing at the Tamiya Track in Aliso only so that setup is what I am trying to achieve. I have the setup sheet from Fred off of the website. I am planning on using 30wt with the standard spring that comes with the TRF 53901 shock (White spring with the red marking on top).

My question is which disk is best to use? The one with 2 holes or 3 holes?

Thanks for the help.

You are going to want the 3 hole piston. Im not sure on what weight oil would be ideal.
