Any help would be great here. I recently purchased a stock spec v3.1 esc and need to put in blinky mode.. The only way to do that is through the program box right?? I have a program box but every time I plug it in it says "please update software" which would be easy but I have a Mac.. Please help!! and which software is that referring to the box or esc???

Default Issue with v3.1 1s

I have several HW v3.1 1s 120A esc and have same problem with 2 of them. After a fairly hard crash, when you are sat on the line for 30 seconds or so and then nail the throttle (ie at start of final), there is a delay of a second or so before the car moves, then it goes as per normal. This happens every race now. Anybody seen this behaviour, and is there a fix or is the esc damaged? This wasn't happening previously

Either borrow a PC with the HW software installed and update your box or pick up a cheap laptop and use it for your racing computer. I just got an older Windows 7 laptop for free and dedicated it for RC stuff.
Once the box has been updated, you can then select the mode for your ESC. It might request updating the ESC. If so, you can decide if it's worth it.

Check to make sure your neutral point is stable. Recalibrate your ESC/transmitter and let the car sit with your radio on and see if the led indicator on the ESC changes color or blink pattern. It may also be having an intermittent connection at the sensor port.

Just picked one these up. I run 17.5 touring car blinky. Do I need to run the fan on the this speedo? I have run orca, Orion, Tekin etc and for that class it wasn't really necessary but wasn't sure if it was for this particular speedo.

Questions?? V3.1 with a 4.5T 550

I have read the specs for the V3.1 and see that a 4.5T is too low according to the "specs". I have seen some knockoffs able to handle a 4.5T 550 without issue in a 4wd SCT. I would assume that it being a 120A esc, the V3.1 should work for me. Would the V3.1 handle this motor? I run indoor off-road carpet 4wd SCT.

Starting with the basic question. Did you calibrate it to your radio yet?

You'll want the HW SCT Pro esc for short course 550 motor application.

I have the V3.1 with a 4.5 540 motor and in TC, it already gets pretty warm.

Seems that the V3.1 AND SCT Pro have the SAME OUTPUT specs....changing the fan to one with a highr CFM rating could help with the heat.

Well, I went with the V2.1 120a instead. I got it all installed in my SCTE 2.0 with my Ballistic 4.5T 550. I did some test hits on the street and that yielded no issues. I went dead stop to WOT to full brake with no hiccup. Actual track testing will be later this week. I will report my findings as soon as I can.
