You wont be able to shorten the top balls very much as they use through shocks. The ball length is to allow the opposite end of the piston shaft to travel before the actual ball socket

Tamiya F104 front end fit perfectly with just one modification.

Grind out the bottom of the F104 lower arm, and it's ready.

Use the F113 stock servo mount instead of F104 servo mount.

Now it's legal for UF1 Series, so I can race F113 next UF1 round on Jan 19th.

I can't wait ...

Thanks.

One question, why you have to change the front end for the F113 with the Tamiya parts? Is there anything wrong with the suspension setting? What will be the benefit? Sorry, I am new to the class and I am interested in getting the F113 but, I am having trouble understanding the purpose of the swap.

Thanks in advance for your orientation.

Nothing wrong with the F113 front end, it's about the race rules.

If your local track allow you to run 200mm width F1 car, you can use stock F113 front end.

But, if the rule says 190mm or 180mm max, you can't use the F113 front end because it's 200mm width.

You can use F104 front end to change the width to 180mm.

Rear width is depends on what tire you are using. The rear width will be 200mm with F103 tires, 180mm with F104 tires.

3racing will make 180mm front end parts soon.

Thanks.

The purple pieces are what the wishbone pivots bolt on to, not spacers.

Default Which F1???

Ok, I have a few questions for whoever can answer them. I'm on the fence between this one and the 104v2. Actually for the price I'm considering the FGX w/exotex conv also. Do you think the design diferences on the F113 will result in a better racer? Why did they go away from the independent rear suspension like the FGX has? Is it safe to say that this "demo" car is likely to be what the actual car will look like "box stock"?

Thanks

The aluminum mount is what holds the front end on
It's not a shim

I was looking at that car the other day at TQ
Nice piece of kit

F113 & FGX are very different, but both are "current" 3R kits
Neither is 180mm out of the box though

The Tamiya VII is 180mm, which may, or may not matter where you race
