TC5 Help
I have a TC5 and it is making a loud clicking noise when taking off. Sounds like its coming from the center spur gear shaft. It is also very sluggish when taking off. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I had a click in mine recently. One of the spur gear screws was sticking out the back of the mount just a bit and catching the belt. Backed it off 1/2 turn and problem solved.
|
This only happens at the start. Sounds like maybe the belt is skipping but they are both tight.
|
spin the spur gear very slowly and keep your eye on the belts right at the center pulleys. Watch to see if either belt lifts up off the pulley at some point. If it does, look and see why. For me, it was the spur gear screw.

Do you have a ball diff in the rear? It might need cleaned and greased up.
|
Now I am thinking it is the rear ball diff. I will rebuild it and see

I recently had the same problem with a tc4, sounds like a bad gear, stutters at take off. It turned out to be of all things, a bad esc. Try a known working esc first.

replaced rear diff pulley, cleaned and re greased. still makes noise at take off:confused:
