Default Best 1/10th scale electric car to buy

I have looked for a thread like this and cannot find one so I am starting one.

My question is what is the best 1/10th scale electric car to buy for the money?

And my other question is what is the best, most competitive 1/10th scale car to buy, not worried about money?

I have been out of racing for about 6-8 years and am looking to get back into it. That is why I want to know. Just to date how long its been, my last car was a team losi JRX-S and the batteries everyone had were 3300 NiMH. Oh and keep in mind when you answer that I am very very competitive and like to win

I think most of us are tired answering this question...

All actual versions of the professional TCs are nearly the same in look and speed.

If you look for the price : AE TC6.1

If you look for something outstanding: Awesomatrix A700.

In the end other arguments should also lead your way: What other guys in your area drive, availability of spares, which aluminum color you like most

In the end you should check out all available cars and see what serves you best. Have fun!

Sorry, it sounds like this has been asked alot. Funny I couldn't find another thread about this topic....oh well. And your right....I have not done enough research. That is why I am asking people who have done their research and HAVE experience using the latest cars. Any help would be very much appreciated. How do people think the XRAY T3 2012 compare to others? That is the one I am looking at right now.

You are going to get conflicting opinions on every car that is out there. Refer back to the first answer that was posted. It was right on target. Check out local competition and parts availability. It won't work if you have something that has no local support and no one knows anything about.

Xray is a good car, but the consensus on all threads like these is to go down to your local track and see what everyone is running. That way you can get your hands on the cars and talk with the locals on what works there. Also, if you get a common car at your track you'll have setup help and parts availability.

For a beginner the xray is the way too go in my opinion because your gonna hit a lot of boards as a beginner and the xray can take the most abuse before breaking....its a very strong car.

The answer for your question is that there is no answer. All of the high end racing sedans are all competitive. AE TC 6.1, Xray t3 2012, serpent s411, awesomatix a700, hot bodies tcx, top photon. They're all highly competitive.

What matters more is what the people at the track are driving. Find out what people are driving at your local track. At mikes hobby shop in Carrollton, tx the xray cars are the most popular.

You seriously cannot possibly go wrong with any of those cars.

So it sounds like pretty much any of those 6 listed cars(AE,xray, serpent, awesomatrix, hot bodies, and top) will be competitive. Thanks so much for the help. That gives me a good baseline. Now let the research begin!
