I still don't understand why they set the car up for us foam guys by putting a diff up front yet they wimped out on the chassis.

Either way you gotta spend $60 to get the car dialed. RC America made a bit of a mistake there

Default shocks

I found the shocks are easier to get a consistant rebound if you use the foam inserts that go under the shock bladder (Part # 30 8090). I've built alot of xrays and serpents shocks and I consider the foam inserts a must have. They cost $5.75, they cost serpent about 2 cents to make.

They look real close to the round foam that comes out of the fko5 foam bumper when you install it. Cut that into 4 evens pieces and I bet it will work.

The one-way from the T1FK will not work in the ’05 because the diffs are flipped around compared to the FK so the one-way would be going backwards. I used the solid axle p/n 305180. Works great and only cost about $20 and it comes with the 34 tooth pulley.

So has anyone tried to remove and reverse the bearings yet. They shouldn't be that difficult to remove. I did this once to convert a oneway for a Kyosho V1RR to use in my son's V1S.

First mistake is dont run 58mm tires on an xray. 56's will drive much better.

Ask Losi! That is if you can get a straight answer from them!

Honestly, I have not decided on the FK05 as of yet, which is why I was gathering information and listening to what people who have the car have to say. I would still prefer to get the Losi, but what can I do if they wont release the car and wont even talk to us about whats going on.

So right now my s&*% is all up in the air. I've been planning since last Oct. to get the Losi, and now I (like many others who have already given up waiting) am forced to consider other options. And the Xray is one of those options I'm considering along with the Mi2, and new Yokomo BD.

I haven't completely given up yet....but if I'm going to get racing anytime soon, I gotta start looking at a back up plan...

Needless to say, I'm not thrilled in the least to be in this situation...

Mistake #2, More tape on the battery pack. Man those fk05s had batteries coming loose everywhere tonight.

Not more tape just file the battery tape slots so they arent like razor blades. Xray should replace my Keyence that fried becasue they failed to tell you that in the directions.

If you put those battery holders on the car I dont think you'll have a problem...I nailed some stuff tonight and mine never budged...But then again I am an oval racer....so I go a little overboard on the tape since thats all Im used to!!! LOL

Actually, it's brilliant when you think about it. Either way we have to buy something to get it perfect. Condom tire guys have to buy the one-way, we have to buy at minimum the wide upper deck, sway bars, etc.
