Whats up Mark. Unfortuantely, there are no upgrade for the plastic blades for the FK05 yet. When I ran a spool, I went through the same issue; replacing the blades ever 2 runs or so. For now, just keep them stocked up in your parts bin. I remember I bought so many blades, that I literally had about 20 or more sets.

How's Chris doing with his FK05 ? I sent him afew set-ups.

Thanks Roger. They seem to tear at the eyelet. I might have to look at the other Manf. that make the blades and see if something fits.

I have not had a mod car that was this good in a long time.

CL stuff is looking really strong.

What about 2.0mm for outdoor...?
PRS's website has them in stock.

I am not sure about the 2mm chassis. A 120 tooth 64p spur is exactly equivilent in size to a 90t 48p spur. The 84 that came with the kit is equivilent to 112t in 64 pitch. 87t 48p = 116t 64p. Not sure if that will help you figure it out or not. I would say 112t to be safe, although a 116t may fit.

I've noticed the blades tend to last a little longer by using small rubber o-rings in the outdrives.

This is whole idea behind the drive shaft blades, they are ment to wear out. the drive shafts and out drives take a lot of punishment when using a spool and would wear out quick, so these plastic blades go in and take the abuse instead.

Is there an aftermarket replacement part for the bottom shock ball joint. I am running 28 mm foams and keep braking them. I don't want to buy any more of the 308310 kits just to get this part. It would be nice to find some sturdier ones or should I just get different shocks.

Serpent SER 909403's are just the 5.8mm ball end in a package of 4. Cheaper than XRA308310's but not a cheep as not hitting anything?

just use the shock ends from a Pro4 and ditch the ball joint all together they are much smaller and dont hit the wheels

Depending on the size of the track you probably wont be able to get a big enough pinion on the motor with a 120 spur unless you run mod. Most guys on carpet run a 114 or 116. Depending on how much 19 turn you run. 19 turn motors require a bigger pinion than a stock so I ususally use a 114 everywhere to be safe. Mod guys have to run a 116 or 118...I dont know of any that run 120's.

OK, How hard is it to remove the rubber seal from bearings. I would like to clean them up and re oil then replace the rubber seal. I've done metal shield bearings before, is there much difference.

I ran my new X-Ray for the first time today and i have to say i'm VERY pleased with it! So easy to drive and very smooth through the turns.

I'm only racing 540 atm but are there anything i need in the way of hopups? I got told to get a HPI spring set over the X-Ray one because the X-Ray springs are so expensive. I got told that sway bars won't make much of a difference? Is this true?

I've been out of the hobby for 5 years and this is the first i'm i've driven anything RC in that time and after only 4 packs i was right on the pace of the top 540 guys at the club, just my consistanty isn't there yet

Love the car!

I ran my FK05 for the first time last weekend and I found it great as well. The only hopups I got were one of the spring sets, and if you don't like taping batteries (like me), also get the battery brace. Apart from that I don't think the car needs hopups.

Agreed Dan but a set of blades nearly every run while running 7 turns with a spool at most Nationals is a bit extreme. A fractionally more durable plastic would help, our Xray ones resemble moulded chewing gum! Schumacher blades for instance I believe are about right.
