Default replacing Spur gears

Does anybody know if xray will come up with a better way of changing the spur gear, what a pain in the ass. I know on the rdx they use a bolt through the side which lookes a lot easier....
Any answers!!!!!!!!!!

Take your time building it - it is a great build and a very smooth, fast car as it comes "out of the box" - read through the threads here and on XRay's site - ask lots of questions - have fun!

car is fast out of the box, you will be amazed on how much it will makes you a better driver. Start off with a Mazda 6 for a body.

yep - 116 is the biggest that'll fit.

ProMatch batteries - the only way to go

Obvisously, the battery issue will get you many different opinions. hop-up wise, I don't think there is anything you can improve on... again - opinions will vary.

Springs - i guess that depends on how you like the car to handle. I also guess that I spoke too soon about the "out of the box" thing. The ONE thing that I did change from stock is the springs - to suit my driving style and track.

A little tip, too - Associated springs will work with the X-Ray shocks and are cheaper that X-Ray springs. I bought a full set of Associated springs to use till I can get the X-Ray ones and have been happy with them. I have never touched a sway bar, so I can't help you with that.

Before people can help you set up they'll need to know what type of surface you'l be running on.

Youhitting the carpet at Larry's or going out on the asphalt??

As far as batteries and motors that will depend greatly on what class you're going to run. For Stock you'll want high voltage low IR packs. For Mod, voltage and low-IR are still nice to have but you'll want to take a look at Runtime.

I've had great luck with SMC batteries and the customer service is top-notch.

You'll see a lot of people saying that such and such brand batteries are the only way to go (and you'll see that they are sponsored in their signature)...

Ideally, you'd like to get batteries from a high volume matcher. Compare the numbers within a given brand. Comparing from one brand to another won't always yield accurate results as everyone's matchers are calibrated slightly differently.

You may also want to check the track where you'll be running to see if there are restrictions on what type of cells you're allowed to run.
