I've mainly dealt with AE shocks these are high tech to what I'm use to.
Xray 30 or 40wt. oil, Xray light purple (30lb.) springs, 2 holes open on pistons (front & rear). Use outer hole on front shock tower and use 2nd hole from the outside on rear shock tower. Use middle hole on rear arm - rear arm mod in manual has not been sucessful for many.

I installed the good one now. It works fine. Anyone who hasn't change it so far, better think about doing so cause it will fail sooner or later.
Yup ... mine failed as well. As much as I love the car, finding the "cheap-out" thrust bearing was a bit of a disappointment. None are available in my area right now so I have to wait to replace with the good ones.

My thrust bearings blew up as well. Same goes with the guy sitting next to last week at the regional race.

My retainer ring in the front diff was GONE! The rear the balls just fell off from the retainer ring.

Boca bearing made the good one also, Corally, Kyosho 30 size helicopter tail blade thrust bearing......shouldn't be hard to find a replacement.

Otherwise FK 05 is the car of the year!

Well Tag and Larry, I guess I was THINKING, Hpi. I meant to say, use the inside hole. Then again, maybe my sub-conscience was pointing out, that there SHOULD BE a third hole?

Default DIFF

I take mine apart & regrease them with yoke black grease (thrust) , yoke silicon (diff balls) done this on the fk04 & 05 no diff problems at all with both cars

more holes means things are weaker and it would break like a HPI

RUKidn,

To build the car you will need a 1.5, 2,2.5, and 3 mm hex wrenches. Rebuild the diff as soon as you get the car to avoid any problems (most kits seem to come with a dry diff and dry thrust bearings).
