it should say on the crystal itself, and on the package you get it in. just make sure that you have the right mhz, 27 or 75, when you buy them.

i was looking more at the mx3 s radio and i think i will just save up for it because i would rather pay the extra and not have to worrie about stupid crystals! but im still worried about that NO abs feature, how important is it? i dont want to be burning up my speedo!
and should i get the one thats on the 24 or the one thats on the 72mhx band? whats the diffrence between the two?

I think it is not neccesary to have anti-lock break in eletric car cuz the break isn't that strong anyway.
anti lock break uses pulses on the circute which will give extra work to ESC in eletric car or servo in nitro car

most ppl i know (nitro driver) do not use anti lock break cuz they afraid of burn out the throtal servo

If you live in Socal and want the MX3s I would advise against it. I have the standard MX3 and it works great. I got the Mx3s and Ive had nothing but glitching problems with it ..after returning the system for a new one and then 2 more recievers..Ive had nothing but problem at So cal raceway with it..Airtronics is working with me but i have been able to practice or race in a while its so bad..

the difference between 27 and 75 mhz is that 27 has only 6 channels to choose from, 1-6, and 75 has many more(not sure how many but there are enough to choose from at a race).

and about the ABS-you are right most people dont use the feature because the brakes usually dont get hot enough for them to melt! i personally think that it de-stabilizes the car when braking.

Examples? I cant remember that I've seen even one ESC with ABS...

I have ABS in my radio, I'm running electric with one-way on carpet. I dont brake at all, so I wouldnt say ABS is needed...

well the esc i plan to get is the lrp prs sport it say it has "EMF Brake w/APC (adjustable power conrtrol) to prevent locking"
dont know what that is? but yeah im not really worried about the abs because my stock rtr tc3 doesent have it and i havent had any problems what do ever with the break, and....
macnkitty2002 your running the same radio im looking at with out abs and i assume you use electric? have you had any problems?

Cole Trickle- i must have been mistaken. i think what i meant was that alot of radio systems have ABS. your ESC should have some sort of braking feature, either delayed reverse(if you have a reverse ESC) or some sort of brake strength feature. it all depends on your ESC.

kh15-i run the MX-3S 27 mhz in my gas touring car and my mini-t. so really, i know about both. i dont use the ABS at all on my gas tc, like i said before the brakes dont get that hot. and in my mini-t, it works fine. i personally prefer the 27 mhz because really no one uses it in gas tc, and in electric i still have 5 other channels to choose from. no glitching at all. the ARC feature is helpful too.

with the MX-3S radio system you will be getting, all you have to do is just get another receiver and use the same transmitter with two cars. ever noticed how the radio says "18 model memory", that means that you can store your settings for 18 different cars(if you ever had that many). thats what i do, i have two receivers and one transmitter, i just change channels when i want to use the other car. no more toting around 3 transmitters. its very conveineint, but you will have to save up some more money. i am about to get a TC4, and all i need to get is another receiver, which is about $100USD cheaper than getting another radio system.
