Default Yokomo MR4-TC BD universal shafts lenghts ?

Hi RCtech forum.

I need some new front universal shafts on my Yokomo MR4-TC BD. I shall use them with a SpecR gear diff in the front. The dogbones must not be more than 44-45 mm from pin to pin, otherwise they will bind/ get stuck in the outerdrive from the gear diff.

anyone who knows how long these dogbones is

Ore if anyone can point out some others, I will be very greatful.

thanks in advance.

Shock Tower and I have been communicating via PM. We both have BDs and any replies would be appreciated.

The Spec R Yokomo gear diff is a direct bolt on for the rear. Unfortunately, it appears the original BD front spool has been discontinued.

Does anyone know if the BD5 front spool will fit the BD, or will the front universals need replacing as well ?

the BD5 spool fits, so will the gear diffs. Drops right in.

You can use BD5 universals to but you have to switch over to BD5 c-hubs, steering knuckles and king pins. Also will need 5x10 ball bearings. Its expensive but worth it.

You can also do it on the rear, BD5 rear hub carrier and BD5 44mm universals.
You'll need to add 1mm shims to the hubs to makeup clearance.

Default Yokomo MR4 BD universal shafts for gear diff's front and rear.

Hi SammyZ.

Thanks for reply.

I tryed the rear BD5, and thats works allright. Just need the right shims to remove the clearence there.

I looked at spare parts for upgrading to BD5 in front, but as you say, it will be expensive. And it might be a better idear to save these money, and the get at BD5 chassi instead.
