Default Electric ESC & Brushless motor wiring help

I got my brushless kit & was surprised to find the wires to reach my brushless motor from the ESC to be way to short for my chassis layout.

So I ran up to Walmart & bought some 14awg wire to extend it temporally until I rewire the whole truck so every wire is 1 piece & not split.

My question is would running all 12awg hobbygrade silicone wire - http://www.myrcmart.com/awg-silicon-...ed-p-3768.html in my truck instead of something like this - http://www.walmart.com/ip/Everstart-...-Wire/16880583 (my cheap extension fix) make all the difference?

Thanks,
Bryce

Your wire will most likely be a bit stiffer than the silicone wire, but it will work fine. If you're by chance running 1/12, most people prefer the softer silicone wire to avoid chassis tweak. Silicone wire is just generally easier to route/work with for most r/c applications... a good solder joint is far more critical.
