Default 2012 LAS VEGAS INTERNATIONAL INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS "IIC" W/SCOTTY ERNST

It is time to start making plans for the RC world to take over the Riviera Hotel and Casino for the 2012 IIC. Last years event was a tremendous success with a huge increase in attendance and this year is looking to be even bigger and better.

With all my travels around the world, many racers have talked to me about the IIC and many will be joining us for this years event. Of course all the big guns will be there, but we will also have many regular racers who just want to come to the USA to experience the IIC.

Dates for this years event are Sept 30- Oct 6th.

SUNDAY SEPT 30 IIC POKER TOURNAMENT AT 7PM

MONDAY OCT 1 REGISTRATION AND PIT SET UP

ALSO ON MONDAY A CHANGE FROM PREVIOUS YEARS. 7PM DRIVERS MEETING BANQUET. THIS WILL BE HELD ON MONDAY NIGHT.

TUESDAY OCT 2 PRACTICE AND SPONSORS MEET AND GREET
WITH FREE BEER AND FOOD.

WED OCT 3 PRACTICE
THUR OCT 4 2 QUALIFIERS
FRI OCT 5 2 QUALIFIERS
SAT OCT 6 MAINS

Class structure is still being worked on but will be similar to last years. F-1 Will for sure make its return but with some more specific rules to keep things in the correct perspective of the class and keep the fun in it.

ONLINE REGISTRATION WILL BE ON MONDAY NIGHT JULY 9TH AT 8PM EASTERN TIME ON www.intchamps.com

Hotel info is below.

This year the room rate will be $49 on Mon-Thur and $79 Fri-Sun just like last year.
When you make your reservation you must mention INTERNATIONAL INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS.

The Hotel requires a one night room deposit plus Clark County Room tax. This deposit may be made by a major credit card, check, or money order. The credit card is charged at the time of the booking. If you are sending a check or money order, the Hotel must receive payment within 14 days of making the room reservation or it will be canceled. The room deposit is refundable, minus any applicable hotel cancellation fees, if your reservation is canceled at least two (2) days prior to arrival.

Last year there were some problems when people booked their rooms through online sites. When you book with our group code, you rooms are reserved in the new renovated tower of the hotel that has absolutely beautiful rooms with great beds, large flat screen TVs and just a wonderful room.

To book your room for the IIC call the Riviera at 1-877-535-5335 and use our group name IIC or International Indoor Championships to get the special rate. Remember when you book using our code you are guaranteed the new rooms.

Last year some guys waited until the last moment to reserve their room and were not able to get the special rate because our block was past the cutoff, so once you know you are going. book you room.

DO NOT WAIT TO RESERVE YOUR ROOM!

Gets me all pumped to start the thread for the race and I am very excited to get back to Vegas and see all our friends we have made through the years.

So set your calendars and make plans for to attend the 8th Running of the International Indoor Championships.

As always if you have questions, please leave a post and Kraig, Boomer or myself will answer or drop me an email at [email protected]

I hope to see everyone in Vegas for the IIC.

Thanks
Scotty

Fantastic! Cannot wait to make my 4th IIC in a row..

I have two questions before the classes are posted (btw.. last years classes where spot on!)
1- could non-modified motors be tech'd this year? Ideally this would be done before the seeding of qualifying based upon practice times.

2- will non roar certified spec esc be allowed again in "blinky" classes?

Will be my first IIC, but I am very much looking forward to it

I know the classing structure is not finalized yet, but do you know if there will be two different WGT classes like in the past(ie: 13.5 blinky and 10.5 open)?

Jim quit rubbing it in. 5 mile trip. that rocks.

James, Glad you are going to join us. You will have a great time.

Hanulec: Charlie is ready for some aggressive race calling for you.

Rules for motors and Esc's are being worked on. Every year things are changing and we are always the first race of the season so I have to plan things out on what I feel will work best. Things will be posted as soon as we have things set. Glad you are going to join us again.

Thanks
Scotty

HI guys,

sorry for the delay in my reply, I have been traveling a bit and have not had any downtime.

RICK: If you live in Vegas, you dont need to stay at the Riviera, this is only for out of town racers. This rule is to ensure that I can hold the race there. If I don't fill "X" amount of hotel rooms, the IIC does not happen.

BYTE: last year we had confirmation from all ESC Companies that the software they were using complied to all rules. Of course there is no way to 100% ensure that all versions are 100% legit at the track without all the test equipment, but I believe it was an extremely fair event and that the best racers won.

I am working on the classes as this is always the most difficult part of the planning and I will have that posted as soon as I can.

As always if you have any more questions, please let me know.

Thanks
Scotty

Oh to Vegas baby, first time last year, had a blast. Started counting the days until 2012 IIC a week after the event.where else can you get 5 days of racing - 14 hours per day and never set foot outside, doing something you love doing.

thanks
