Thanks, still have a lot of work to do, but if I get it ready I'll drive up. You're talking about the Hobbytown on the North side of Austin Forget the exact exit off of I35 something like 244 or so) and you're racing every Sunday?

For December, we're racing on the south side. Since this thread is for nationwide discussion of VTA topics, let's take this offline. Shoot me a PM and I'll be happy to get you all of the information you need!

Is the 25.5 novak stator that is sold separately any different than what comes in a ballistic motor?

edit: s6625 is red wire.

As long as it's a ballistic stator, no.

Can anyone confirm that the Edge + Boss combo comes with red wire stator?

My son's ballistic has red wire while mine has copper colored wire stator and I can't remember whether I purchased them in combo or individually…

Thanks.

Went up to Austin Sunday to check out the racing. Meet Tommy R and saw some RCHQ friends from San Antonio. Saw a few 17.5 Blinky TC cars on the track and remembered why I got out of on road (only then they weren't blinky) - too fast for my aging skill level. Trans Am was awesome racing and I see why Tommy is the Champ here. Don't tell anyone but his supper secret speed secret - he is a great driver! Despite the slower motors, spec tires, and having more weight, the Trans Am class wasn't that much slower than the vintage GT class (at least in the first qualifier, which is all I could stay for). Anyway I was able to get the correct front tires for my Trans Am car since Tower sent me the HPI performance tire instead of the tire I ordered.

PS Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays

Hi John, it was great meeting you yesterday! Thanks for the compliments. I just try to keep it off the walls! Some days I do that better than others. LOL! Look forward to racing with you soon.

Me too. I'm certainly not in your league, but I like to have fun. Got the car balanced and up to weight (forgot how much lead you had to add) and drove it around the driveway today to start breaking in the tires. So far so good, it handled about as well as I remember. Should be ready to run next Sunday, if they are racing in Austin. BTW I took some pictures of the process I used to balance the chassis with my Tweak board and two scales. I'll post if you think anyone would be interested.

96t spur has always been my gear. With its size you can achieve most any FDR that you'll need within the adjustability of the motor mount for VTA
