I am getting back into RC after a long hiatus. Due to this, I am new to brushless and VTA. Can you tell me what the out-of-the-box timing is on the Ballistic 25.5 motor?

All Novak Ballistic and SS motors are set at 30 degrees of timing from the factory.

Ugggh... another day of VTA racing and yet another VTA race loss that could have been avoided if it were not for a bad turn marshal. My VTA sat on its roof for almost 12 seconds before a turn marshal saw it! I felt like saying...

I feel for "YA".....I know the feeling, I usually let out a "BELLOR" scare every one on the drivers stand, and then apologize for my behavior. BUT.....remember who crashed in the first place.

I'd love to run one of these endurance type races.

Obvious question is, how do you keep everything cool? If geared right, can you run continuously for 90 minutes?

How many battery packs would you need to cycle between?

Do people make any mods to make pitting faster or does that not really factor in anyway?

Its all in the strategy to make the duration. You will need to make sure you keep things cool and decide when to do battery and driver swaps.
I don't think special battery mounting will be necessary. I would advise using a car setup that can mount a battery without having to use tape though.

We run a 24 hour race at Jackson RC in NJ. Very cool race to run.

I've just put the finishing touches on my Canadian VTA ride and here's a picture. Chassis is Spec-R S1 built box stock, body is the HPI '69 Camaro.

I feel for ya, David. I was yelilng, "Help him, help him!" Of course, all of that carnage happened behind me as you were about to lap my car.

That was fun, though. I'm really glad you, Randy and Joey were able to make it down and put a clinic on for us. Our crew still has a few bugs to work out before we can be comfortably "in the mix" with y'all.

with the 13s breakout in effect not going to be hard to keep cool. Geared right at 4, I have made laps in the 12.2s at The Grove with all VTA gear and no fan on the motor come off at 115* @ 60* ambient temp.
