Quick question, just getting started with VTA though raced Mini and TC in the past. I'm putting together my body but I'm not sure about the spoiler/wing rules. The rules state that you can use the included spoiler with the body but that you can't use a "wing". I'm running the HPI GT350 body and it comes with a pretty big "wing". Don't want to drill holes in the body if I will just have to remove it.

Motor Question
I have a question on the VTA legal motor. If you can't modify or use any optional parts on the motor can how can you install ceramic bearing legally?
Motor Specifications:
25.5 brushless with 2C LiPo: Novak SS25.5 Pro brushless motor (pn:3425V) or Ballistic 25.5 (pn:3625V- stator only pn:S6625) Club (pn:3331) ONLY combined with any hard-cased 2C 7.4v LiPo pack up to and including 5000 mAh capacity. Novak motors are the ONLY motor allowed at this time. All house track rules regarding LiPo usage apply. Only physical motor timing advance is allowed, however Ballistic motors must not be advanced beyond the last line of the timing range sticker. 12.3 mm rotor diameter only (no "tuning" rotors are allowed, only stock Novak rotors allowed). Using ceramic bearings in the motor makes you a dork. No modifications or optional parts allowed on motor can, endbell, stator, or rotor. No cooling holes or other changes allowed to motor. Fans and external clip on heatsinks are allowed, but integral type heatsinks/fans including but not limited to those that require motor disassembly to mount are illegal.

Biggest problem is the son of one of the managers here races also, so he sees me at most every event, and he is getting serious enough now to make the trip to Nashville this year. I'll just have to wait and see how things shape up as September approaches...

Most of the SS motors I have checked with my equipment show rpm ranges of 13,200-13,800 with extremely low amp and watt numbers, so they can be geared very differently then their Ballistic counterparts.
I had someone else at our shop with some concerns after I had built their car with a specific power/FDR combo (club stock/SS/4.07/TC4/Onyx 5000) and then they mysteriously lost over a half second. It turned out, they had been given a battery (and told it was fine to be used as a basher pack only in an sct), swapped out the battery and got their missing .5 back.

I am sure the guys down there are trying to help, but for my info, what chassis, motor version and FDR are you running?
