BTW, I think they ought to allow the HPI Corvette body too with ONE stipulation. It must run "AP" or "BP" (A/B Production) markings. They should also change the rule for the 65 Shelby Mustang and require it to run "BP" (B Production) markings since Shelby removed the back seat and stuck the spare tire where the rear seat goes to run it against B Production Cobras and Corvettes along with European B production vehicles. These cars regularly ran with A Sedan cars and in some cases TA cars at smaller regional events (A Sedan and Trans AM were basically the same class with the same rules. A Sedan was more of the local and regional races vs the Trans American Series which was the National Series).

You will notice most if not all of the production classes are denoted by not having a back seat. A Sedan and Trans Am cars all originally came with a back seat (Reference the AMC Javelin vs the original AMX. The only difference in these cars was the Javelin had a rear seat and the AMX did not and the AMX had a 12" shorter wheelbase to make it turn better).
Man' its bad when you're old enough to actually REMEMBER this stuff.

You would think that as technology comes along with new 3D scanners and 3D printers, that someone would have a little shop where they could do short runs of the cars we are looking for. The missing year models and favorites.

i am going to race this class at the snowbirds but what battery should i get? 5000mah is not the most available size so i need to orderwho should i get one from?

That's not a list of shells. That is the list of cars allowed in A Production and B Production SCCA class racing as of the July1, 1972 revision of the 1972 SCCA Production Car Specifications guide. I could also include the C through H production list but the whole list is 3 pages long and the detailed specifications covering everything is 144 pages. Here are the examples of the specification for the 3 real cars that the two above listed Corvette and Shelby GT-350 Mustang bodies are based on.

Has anybody had any luck using this S.P. Reventon ESC with a Novak Ballistic 25.5? Mine just does not want to push the car off from a dead stop.

Hey Sharpie, Someone mentioned on here about a possible temp sensor in the motor that connects to Novak esc's through the sensor wire. They said to pull whichever pin it is out from the motor side of the sensor wire. I don't remember who described it, but they said it made it work with the speed passion esc's. Might check into this theory to see if it has any truth to it.
I am confident that the sensor wire mod fixed the problem, will know friday when I put it thru the ringer at ThunderJam5

If snowbirds runs ROAR rules you can run any size 2S battery. If they run USVTA rules then you have to run a 5000Mah battery. Either waay I would suggest getting one from Eric Anderson of EA Motorsports at www.teameamotorsports.com. He has an awesome 5000Mah 70c VTA pack that is unbelievable. Mine holds above 8v all the way through a run so it has great punch until the end. He also has a 6500Mah 70c pack that I run in 17.5 sedan and it is crazy fast. It also wil stay above 8v till the end. You cant go wrong with his packs.

I know it's a bit off course but having been mostly an oval racer, I did get a chance to run the VTA car on the oval Friday night and had a blast. Actually was more fun to drive than my SK Mod or Outlaw Truck! Did not change gear or suspension just threw it down and ran it. It was slower than the oval cars but the weight and tires made it more realistic than I have experienced with R/C in some time. I had to back up the corner and wait on the tires to grip before getting back on the throttle to get off the corner. If I got too greedy with the throttle it would step out a little too! When we get back to Minnreg, I'm in if anyone wants to also run 'em on the oval day. I would suggest to minimize the urge to make changes we go with the straight up USVTA spec.
I had watched USVTA at the 'Birds for the last several times they were run and decided last year that I was going to join in. Although I've never been too keen on the TC platform, I thought it would be something neat since I liked the looks of the bodies in use. Now as I get my gear ready I find that the VTA car is by far the least complicated car in my stable. Basically I've had motor and tires ready for over 6 months! Good thing because we're less than 2 weeks out and the other oval cars are bogging me down with the motor deal and prepping tires choices and options. I liked it before but I'm really liking this VTA idea more and more.
