Its one too many motor variables for me. I just lock it in at 45 degrees and then work the gearing and temps from there. But I wonder if I'm missing out here and would like to know how / when / why others are making adjustments.
IMO...motor timming and FDR work together...I make small adjustments to the motor time after I find a sweet FDR...once the FDR is good, then I move the time a little at a time(5deg) up and down

Default possible esc for USVTA

Ive been sent new esc's to test for the USVTA class...some have failed, and some are on the bubble awaiting final testing.

Ill be sending my findings to Robk and others to see what we can get new on the list. Might get 2 or 3, then again, might not get any.

But just be aware that we are always looking into adding more LEGAL esc's and bodies to the class. And Ive reached out to some companys with great results, and some have just simply said NO. And thats cool...USVTA isnt for every co, nor racer.

I hoping to have more on this within the week...

Here's a video of the VTA A-Main at the 1st Round of the Texas Electric On-Road Series.

This race was held at M&M Hobby Center in Bellaire, TX (a suburb of Houston). It was a great day of racing!

I think that this pic clearly defines what VTA is all about. It looks like the driver of this VTA, Bob Vowell, was actually trying to jump over the lap counter loop!

Click on this link to see more VTA-related pics from Round #1 of Texas Electric On-Road Series.

Watch the VTA A-Main Video here.
These 3 guys took home the honors from that race. Notice that 1st and 2nd place are father and son.

Can one of the "VTA Mafia" members from Florida tell me if this "in-car perspective VTA video" is from one of the races in your territory?

We run VTA down here in Australia, with a different motor combo, as 25.5 is hard to get

Yup. That's the song that came to mind when I saw this pic too.

Just two good ol' boys ... Never meaning no harm ... Beats all you ever saw, been in trouble with the law .. Since the day they were born
Straight in the curves ... Flat on the hills ... Someday the mountain might get'em ... But the law never will
Making their way,any way they now how ... That's just a little bit more than the law will allow

There were hotrod cars in that race but I think that's before the hotrod body/class rule went into effect. Both myself and Gorman are in that heat, so I'm pretty sure that's when the class was still mixed

Mingnon - that hotrod class was set-up just to allow racers to use non-legal VTA bodies, such as the 49 Mercury and so-on. Everything else about the cars were VTA legal. A racer could run both VTA and Hotrod VTA but a body change was required. The Hotrod class didn't really last though......
