cd, yep, I know what you're saying. The xxxs fits that category but surely not cars like the Sprint, MI1, Sakura S, TA05....these are all pretty current and supported well. Like you mentioned, the TC4 has even seen a rebirth (like the MI1). There's absolutely nothing wrong with a good used TC5, Mi4LP or Xray. These are slightly older top of the line cars that can be bought pretty cheap. Far cheaper than a new TC6.1. I just see no good coming from a widely accepted practice of suggesting that a new top of the line chassis is truly "needed" to make you any more competitive. RobK made a good comment highlighting advantages to newer, higher level cars and he's right. But a 5 year old TC5 is a hell of a lot different than suggesting that a new TC6.1 will help you become a better, more competitive racer.

On that topic, I don't even know if there are any "off-the-shelf" balancing LiPo Chargers that go above the standard charge profile of 4.20V per cell. I own 3 balancing Lipo Chargers (1-iMax B6, 1-Venom Lipo Pro, and 1-Dynamite Pro Charger) and none of them can go over 4.20V per cell. Do some of those uber-expensive Touch-Screen LiPo Chargers allow you to go above 4.20V/cell?

Losi having abandoned the triple XS is . I still break mine out sometimes and it's a great chassis. Sadly, if the belt ever breaks, I'm probably screwed...
I would like to see an event that has a "by current rules" VTA class, and one which is strictly reserved for designs that are 2005-era and older only.... "ultra" vintage if you will...

Chassis rtr question
I know I have asked this before with no response, if a arts or rtr we're to be offered, which of these 3 do think would be more attractive to someone new.
First, RTR Sprint2 USVTA ready minus batteries with stock 2.4 radio,cv joints,cf shock towers and aluminum shocks at 475
Second, T3R box stock with Futaba 3pl and also rtr at 640
Thirdly, TC4 with Futaba 3pl, also USVTA RTR at 475
They all would be equipped with Novak Club Spec 25.5 systems and geared at 4.0.
Just a thought that Heather and I had.
