How is the VTA scene in SoCal these days? What tracks have active classes?

As a VTA racer, or a racer of any other carpet onroad class, you will NEVER attend a better race event. When they say "this is the one not to miss", trust me when I tell you, that's 100% on point!

Had a official race at the new local carpet track. 707 Raceway in Northern Calif. fun track and well run program, first time back to carpet in maybe 15 years had a blast.

Which car were you? Brutal track barriers lol. Those 90 degree corners don't help either

The mustang that got flipped on the start. The barrier are definitely not forgiving. But only a few have been damaged. there’s a 5 lap difference from the A main to us in the C main.

Billy, ok thanks for the clarification. Unfortunately with the camera angle, there's a lot that can't be seen real well. From what I can see, there is a lot to be gained from running a much tighter line. I know your consistency was 97+ and that's great and all but in this class the tight consistent line combined with corner speed is everything.

In the video, looking at the corner off the straight on the right, watch your line and the line of the other white car. Work to perfect your line and in some cases not overdriving the corners. What feels like at times is a slower lap is actually faster. Wide lanes and the fact these cars are pretty slow tend to make guys overdrive....push out wide both going into an coming out of a corner.

Hope this helps and best of luck to you. Keep after it!

Oh I know I was getting killed in the turns. Steering was way off from left to right.

I went a lower with the camera this time. Previous went higher. I’d like to mount camera on drivers stand. But now good spot where it might not get bumped.

In previous races I’ve struggled with gearing problems. At least now I feel like I’m moving in right direction. Unfortunately only 3-4 chances left to run most likely.

This is my first summer with VTA. I’ve run F1, USGT and 17.5TC. I wasn’t sure what to expect with it. There’s a much wider gap between top 4-5 and the other 10 of us then expected.
